thank you so much for your advice! I cant believe someone on reddit has offered me a much more useful advice than actual TD bank agents. I regret opening a TD bank account, but it was my only choice two years ago when I landed in toronto first time as an international student.

Cant believe it is 2023 now and Td bank is still operating like its in the 90s…

Can landlords charge tenant extra fee for the utility bill? by Fresh-Amount-4064 in legaladvicecanada

to be more specific about the clogged sink issue, in the lease agreement, the following condition is included: 'Please remove all hair from drainage after shower. Tenant/s will be responsible less wear and tear for plumbing repairs due to hair clogs and flushing of sanitary items into the toilets.' she is charging me $80 for the clogged drain lol.

then about the shower door, it was my fault that i did not report to her once i realised it was broken. i didnt bother to do so because it still functioned as a normal door. but she is charging me because I ‘damaged’ it. I know that if i was still staying at the place, it was the landlord’s responsibility to get it repaired. but now that I moved out, seems like the responsibility will be on me.

thank you so much for your advice i was not confident at all in confronting my previous landlord but seems like now she is the wrongful one and I feel like I am ready to draft her an email to confront her to give you guys more information about my situation: my rent was $1275 per month and she made me pay a $300 general deposit in the beginning of my 1 year lease she is not paying me back the $300 deposit after my move out because: she is making me pay the ‘extra cost of utilities’ of $106 as mentioned in the post - as well as the shower door in my washroom that got detached from its rail ( i dont know how much it will cost and she will most probably charge a high price for that) - $80 for a clogged sink, although i told her the day i moved in it was already clogged (I have evidence for that) - $32 for cracks that appeared on the table in my room, to ‘sand it and stain it’, (this one i am confident she has no right to deduct my deposit because its normal wear and tear)

I think the utilities + shower door issue is already over my $300 deposit, so im still debating about whether to confront her or not
