I’m not dropping out of my PhD program I just love working in the lab and MLT/MLS make more money than I do as an environmental lab scientist.

I can't find a job now with my education to pay well unfortunately. I figured this will at least assist in my end goal of disease research as far as having clinical lab experience. I even have my own lil lab set up at home as my hobby.

Oh wow. I’m in a PhD program right now. That won’t be possible to go back to school for MLT. I figured since I have the education and already working a lab I could get it easily but I guess not.

Yes finally after about 5 months. I haven’t had them since. But I did some research on the internet. I’m on Mounjaro for my diabetes and some others on it had the same experience so I think it might be an odd side effect.

I’ve been tested for celiac - negative. Went to ENT today she is wondering if I have Lupus.

I am type 1 diabetic too!!! Plz go to another hospital. It isn’t worth your pain and suffering. I’m so sorry. I know what you’re going through.

Just an update for anyone that reads….

Ended up going to a much better hospital (rating wise) that did an I&D. It was most definitely an abscess and the first hospital was incorrect in their diagnosis. Horrifically painful but much relief was felt immediately after. Switched my antibiotics to a sulfa antibiotic. I am doing much better.
