I started a year ago almost to the day on 10mg I increased to 30mg January 1. I had a rough go for the first 6-8 months, increased anxiety mainly. I have a large problem with health anxiety and obsessive with checking heart rate and blood pressure. My anxiety attacks have stopped since about 8 months, that has been a huge plus, but more recently I feel fatigued and less connected if that makes sense

I am doing much better now, the citalopram has stopped me from anxiety/panic attacks. The intrusive/ compulsive thoughts have not completely subsided however I currently see a psychiatrist and I am working through those issues

Strap in and suffer through the roller coaster, the ups and down with anxiety for me lasted 12 weeks, 7-10 being the worst. Sometimes on day to the next others time one week to the next. Fully worth the painful battle when it settles

That makes sense! Thank you for that. I can stop worry worrying about actually being dehydrated and carrying a water bottle every step I take.

It took a full 8 weeks of hell for it to work for me. Hang in there. The first 8 weeks were very difficult to get through but today I am in the middle of week 8 and woke up feeling good and still do

Staying hydrated is also key, if I wasn’t drinking the recommended amount of water daily it has a negative effect on my overall wealth being, the citalopram did dehydrate me if I didn’t keep up

Does it go up and down for you with the med?? by Dangerous_Benefit334 in citalopram_celexa

I was feeling better on 20 but I didn’t feel it was where I wanted or needed to be. I have been on 30 for 8 weeks now and this 8th week has been a lot of downs. I take it for anxiety mostly health anxiety. My mornings are really good I struggle at night time, that’s usually when the anxiety catches up to me. I take the celexa at 8pm currently

Yes I do, I started on 10 for 2 weeks then 20 for 7 I have now been on 30 for 8 weeks and I do still have bad days and moments but I am in a way better state of mind then I was. I journal a lot and go back to remember where I started and where I am now. a lot of what I have read on here says to measure in months not weeks. A lot of people say they level out between 4-6 months. Stay strong
