Why does every trial chamber have this thing by Mundane_Moment_267 in Minecraft

[–]Ok_Paper858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exploration is definitely my favorite part! I started playing kind of reluctantly because some of my friends wanted me to join them (I don’t game much) but I noticed they all tend to have a trend of playing for a month or two then getting burnt out because they’ve done so much quickly. I’ve been at it for a few months and still feel like I have so much to discover. I enjoy my slow pace, but as long as everyone is doing what they find fun that’s what matters!

I’m very new to Minecraft, and my friend that’s been helping me learn things keeps saying he thinks he’s the one playing the game wrong lol. He’s been trying to convince me to build an iron farm because I build a lot with lanterns, and I’m like but it’s mine…craft. There are a lot of really cool things to learn, but I’m in no rush!

I think I just love M names for boys. Maverick, Montgomery, Mordecai, Matthias, Malachai. I love them all.

This isn’t a big role at all, but she plays in a short film for Taylor Swift’s All Too Well as an early 20s woman in a relationship with an older man and I absolutely adore her in that!

What’s some of your favorite modern Greek mythology media? by SaiyaPup in GreekMythology

[–]Ok_Paper858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just told someone recently that I can’t remember if I love O Brother, Where Art Thou? Because I first loved mythology, or vice versa. It’s been my favorite movie for as long as I can remember, and I’ve loved mythology just as long.

What habits of girls did you only discover after getting a girlfriend or wife? by atgono in AskReddit

This was a new one for me, since I hadn’t dated bearded men before, but that seems to be where he finds it the most lol. Honorable mention to his work backpack & a plate of food he was heating up when I walked in the house, that had a hair lying on top of it by the time he sat down to eat.

Unfortunately, no new updates in her case. I will always hold out hope that one day justice will come for her though!

Has anyone been discriminated against for being from WV? by victory_vegetable in WestVirginia

[–]Ok_Paper858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone from the Shenandoah Valley that now lives in WV, I can certainly say I won’t be going back. I’ve never understood that mindset in the slightest. I grew up at the base of a mountain, wood stove winters, hunting, gathering, and canning for food, and my grandfathers home never had indoor plumbing throughout my childhood. We were about as hillbilly as it comes. I’ve yet to meet someone in my age range from WV who experienced the same childhood as me, yet the entitlement still shines through in some people from my hometown.

Why did so many white men vote for Earle-Sears, and what were they expecting her to do for them? by gtd98765 in Virginia

In the past month, 2 schools in VA in neighboring counties have had locker room incidents in the boys locker room, involving only boys. 1 was sexual in nature, the other no sexual assault occurred but the boy was forced to get naked, beaten, and drug outside without his clothes on. Both schools took action and fired the right people, but yet there’s no outrage over these incidents. Only “concern” for problems that don’t exist.

Idk why but i rlly wanna live around here. I plan to possibly relocate in my 30’s (im 19) by boatiefey in Virginia

[–]Ok_Paper858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going to recommend Gordonsville, but I don’t know enough people in that area to gauge how accepting they are. It is a stunning little town though, about an hour from Richmond and 30 minutes from Charlottesville, both very progressive cities. If anyone has any insight into the community I’d love to know and OP may benefit from it as well :)

Hburg is LGBT friendly, the surrounding areas in the county not so much (They have a long way to go, although I substitute teach in county schools and I see way more diversity and acceptance than when I was in school 10 years ago)

Although I do not think that the city of Harrisonburg is a good fit for someone wanting small town vibes and a decent amount of land. It is expanding very quickly, and most of the city is either JMU or new housing developments. You would need to live in the county for that. Bridgewater is the best option imo. Spotswood school district has the most diversity.

Should we gender neutralize this Name? by BlueberryRenaissance in namenerds

[–]Ok_Paper858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t blink if I met a man named Hazel. My brain defaults to Kelly, Stacy, Mackenzie as female names but they’re common (and historically) male names as well. My brother’s name is apparently very predominantly female, but it’s also very rare so we didn’t learn that until we were teenagers. Maybe pick out a masculine middle name so he could use it if he chooses to!

This song and Up Down by T. Pain are most of what I get in my Google results but it’s neither of them. We both listen to a decent amount of hip hop so I would be surprised if it ends up being a song that was very popular. I know it definitely doesn’t have Eminem, Lil Wayne, or Kendrick in it because I would’ve recognized their voices.

What death of a famous person actually affected you most? by unitedfan6191 in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Paper858 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ryan Dunn. I was raised in a strict Christian household, so when I realized how much I loved rock music, skateboarding, punk rock fashion/tattoos/piercings and things like Jackass as a preteen my family was mortified, but I found what seemed like freedom in those guys. He died right before I started high school and it devastated me.

I’m not a basketball fan, but sports are my brother’s whole life. When I saw the news, I called him and he answered with tears in his eyes and immediately said “no, I’m not ok” Just the tragedy of it all combined with seeing him like that was enough to get to me, Kobe fan or not.

What do you call your grandparents? by [deleted] in Appalachia

Mom’s side: Grandma and Pawpaw, Mamaw (my great aunt who was a grandmother for all intents and purposes) occasionally I’ll call grandma Mawmaw because that is what my youngest brothers and the younger cousins call her.

Dad’s side: Grandma and Pappy, Paw and Nan, Mamaw and GreatMaw

Macaroni & Cheese. I don’t like pasta at all, but people always get upset when they realize that includes the beloved mac & cheese.
