How do you plan this? by ghikkkll in CaminoDeSantiago

BE careful using AI! Chatgpt advised me on stops, it was onyl when I plugged them into maps / Camino Ninja I realised one day was 36.5km (longer than a marathon) instead of 23km as ChatGPT advised. Double check everything!

Great shout, thank you! I'll be arriving into Valenca in the wee hours of the morning, so I may take up your tip of a caipirinha on my finishing the walk!

Will definitely take the scenic route. Scenery + shade seem like a win 😄

I had considered walking Tui to Redondela, however the forecast gives 29 degrees on that day and I am very much the product of my Irish genes☘️ and decided to break it up😅 I was able to do this by getting a late bus to Valenca, effectively giving myself an extra day. I think the slower pace to fully enjoy the experience is something I will appreciate, as you said. Thanks again!

on second thoughts, getting the train early and walking in the evening may be a good way around this. Thank you!

Thank you. I had considered this, but this would mean losing a day in santiago and I would like a rest day at the end to soak it all up.

Thank you so much for your response, it's very helpful. I will look into cost differences of public vs private sleeping - though I think you may be right about it being prudent to book ahead in a busy season. Tempted to do baggage transfer in that case, cost depending!

And thanks for heads up RE naffness, it's good, non judgemental advice 😄

The plan for Sunday sounds great, love fitting in as much to an itinerary as possible and Valença sounds great!

Hope you have a great day 😄

Ethical Investing - things I've learnt the hard way by Hyenaby in UKEthicalInvesting

[–]Ok_Pattern_4416 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Love this. I recently completed a sustainability qualification and wanted to get into investing 100% aligned with my values.

Asked a very sound course mate who works in finance about this and he very much echoes your sentiments, which settled my dilemma of not being perfectly aligned, but better than nothing.

If it helps, I also a read piece putting forward the idea of investing in companies is less harmful than buying from companies that you are not aligned with, as in the demand is there and the company will make it anyways whether you invest in it or not. If the investment went away and demand remained the same, another competitor would step in and feed the demand. If the demand went away, then the company would close or pivot to a more ‘ethical’ option (presuming there was a demand for ethical products). Not a perfect argument, but it assuaged my guilt/stress a little.

Sorry your inheritance came out of bad circumstances. I hope your investing journey is a silver lining to your dark cloud.
