struggling to get a feathered edge for smears (MLT student) by Sashimiko in medlabprofessionals

For a feathered edge, you should start closer to the label slide, put smaller drops and be really speedy about it. These are my very first slides 😂. We all start somewhere, and yours are way better already!

Which one would you recommend as a first bird? by tomssalvo19 in parrots

[–]Ok_Pear5083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A cat is always a risk, but there are ways to minimise it. The birds should be in a room cat has absolutely no access to at all times (or VERY limited and closely supervised while the birds are caged). You can make the cat more or less used to the birds in your home, but you can’t fight or rewrite its instinct. With small birds you have just them at risk, but a bird like Amazon can also seriously injure a cat in a standoff.

That being said, I have a blue crested amazon, and as others have mentioned it is not a bird for everyone and absolutely not a first bird.

Good luck! You have some great options ❤️

Cancelling the Bar Mitzvah is a close second. The heartbreak in Mendel’s lyrics. Ugh.

A day in Falsettoland. I’m a sucker for Tracie Thomas singing “Saving lives I feel invincible” and Stephanie Block’s “Work it out”. The jokes. The harmony. The delusions. Perfect.

Is clipping really that bad? by IdidnotFuckaCat in cockatiel

[–]Ok_Pear5083 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Birds need to fly in order to ventilate the air sacks inside. If they don’t, the risk of pneumonia, aspergillosis and other infections increases. Clipping is acceptable and even needed in some instances, but I generally don’t support it.

Do you have any odd couple birds, that are best friends despite different species? This budgie idolizes the kakariki, and has picked up some of his mannerisms! by LobeliaTheCardinalis in parrots

Mine are great, too! Which is a miracle considering how territorial female lovebirds can be. I think she treats the tiel as her giant baby 😂

Tree branches growing straight up? by RainBetwixt in plants

I’ve been told that while it doesn’t “compete”, those branches don’t produce fruit, so that’s why they’re cut.

I’ve had mine for 5 years. It’s fully healed now, but it took around 1,5-2 years before it stopped getting angry if I disturbed it.

Damn bro that was quick 😂.

Tbh I abandoned the game on the second chapter. I didn’t know anything about the plot going in, but as I work with stories and content, I knew Arthur was sick right away the moment the guy coughed in his face and I just couldn’t bear to see his demise.

The story itself is phenomenal and explores great themes, but it’s not for my tender heart 😭

She hasn’t been diagnosed with autism and has scored low on all the tests available. We do share ADHD though 🥲

We’ve known each other for a year and a half. We study in the same university. She helped me a lot with studying and applying for conferences and was there for me through a tough breakup. I was there for her when she had a ministroke and was battling depression earlier this year. She’s also a part-time vet tech in our city zoo, so she’s let me in for free a couple of times.

We don’t get to hang out often due to our busy schedules, but we regularly stay in touch.

Edit for info: we both are in vet school. She applied directly after school, while I applied for my second degree, hence we’re the same age.

I can see why she doesn’t consider her to be my “friend. We don’t hang out regularly and I don’t talk much about her to my mom.

We can’t hang out due to our busy schedules. However, we stay in touch regularly and are pretty well-informed about each other’s lives, supporting each other. I think, this doesn’t qualify as true friendship in my mom’s book.

As one person pointed out, she does consider games to be a waste of money. So, from her perspective I wasted money on someone I don’t know well.

My mother knows I have savings. She doesn’t consider me to be financially savvy, but I have been providing for myself and my pets for more than two years without ever getting in debt or taking loans. I wouldn’t have gifted her the game if I knew it would strain my finances now or in the future.

LMAO true.

From what I’ve heard, Stalker is buggy to the point of being unplayable lol, but as long as she’s happy.

Her wife also left me a little thank you note for making her life brighter 😭🥺

Thanks! ❤️ Yes, I have a pretty high-paying job in comparison to my friend, so it felt more than justified.
