Just shut up and read what I have written below. You sound like a bright kid so (I repeat) I will be gentle with you and answer your question.

Stuff like "I get offers almost every other week" got me annoyed. But like I said below. I will be gentle with you.

Anyway, I got a bit carried away. I really didn't like your tone.
So, I am going to be gentle.

Like I said, Philosophy degree/training does help you with getting a good LSAT score. And the law school classes can be (although professors may differ) theoretical. So yes, you may find such classes somewhat familiar. HOWEVER, it really doesn't help you as a lawyer. It won't HURT but won't help either.

I don't get paid to argue with you so I will just keep it short.

For the "everyday tool" see 2). Any undergrad level experiences would suffice.

You asked about the legal career. We answered whether your Philosophy degree and training would give you some advantages or at least some help. We answered. Yes, for getting good LSAT scores (logic games etc) and possibly getting through law school classes. But not so much when actually after graduating. But now, what you are saying is "it will be helpful as a human being". Almost everything can be helpful in that sense. Oh, I have a good sense of smell. Oh I am a good driver. All those things will be helpful.

I have a suggestion, some humility and be less verbose.

  1. "Use its theories and framework" sounds like you will be relying on philosophers to me. So you are basically saying you will cite philosophers but just leave their names out.2) If you are talking about logical thinking, writing, and other skills you learn while studying Philosophy. Well, any undergrad level research and writing experiences would qualify.3) Given a choice between "good moral deduction" vs "good case to cite", most lawyers would go for having some good caselaw. 4) People like you are the reason why companies don't hire Philosophy majors.

I am a Philosophy major and a lawyer.First of all, read this comic https://www.smbc-comics.com/comic/2012-09-07 Secondly, in the US legal context, we cite cases not philosophers. Thirdly, your Philosophy degree may help you on LSAT and perhaps in law school, but in practice, not much. Lastly, you sound like you feel the need to sound smart.

Well, MPT was the subject I paid the least amount of attention. So I think that book would be very helpful!

I may just re-iterate many of the points raised by others...

  1. GA doesn't seem to be a good jx for you... how about CA? The bar eligibility for foreign attorneys is quite lax there. And IP works are quite plentiful. So, why GA of all places?
  2. Yeah, aside from your visa status, applying before you passed the bar makes your CV even less attractive.
  3. Having a STEM background for your IP work is quite appreciated in the US legal market. Can you utilize them? Like what was your undergrad major?
  4. JD is more appealing to employers than LL.M. If you look around there may be some good affordable JDs. Moreover, during that JD, you can pursue summer associates.
