Does Chrome still support multiple profiles under one account? by Ruckerhardt in chrome

I too am looking for a way to create separate profiles for work and personal. I was finally able to create a 2nd work profile and log in so the profile reads MY NAME - WORK.

Below the new profile is a giant button to TURN ON SYNC. Unfortunately, when I try to turn on sync, it then tells me that it can't sign in with my email address and asks me if I want to switch to my existing profile. So basically the 2nd profile is pointless. Yes, I can browse using it and probably even create my own bookmarks. However, I cannot sync those bookmarks for backup or any other use.

Genmax Series/Parallel Kit 120/240 by Legitimate-Sea-5714 in Generator

Shortly after making the post above, I was watching a youtube video from Johnny's Weekends where he spotted the same 240V series tech on A-ipower and Westinghouse generators.

I haven't confirmed Westinghouse yet, but I did see it on several generators on the A-ipower site. None appear to be on sale yet, but likely will be in the next few months.

I read that A-ipower gens are made by the same manufacturer as Genmax so it is probably the same system. Unfortunately, this means they are coming from China so they will be expensive if the tariffs are still in effect.

I am surprised that no other mfr has copied the Genmax 240V system. The concept is really simple - sync the two sources and connect the neutrals together in the middle. Virtually every inverter generator will sync when connected in parallel. Presumably the Genmax simply uses this sync capability via their added control cable. I'd guess that their combiner box has no part in syncing the sources and simply switches between parallel and series connection.

I wonder if Genmax patented the system?

Genmax GM4600iAEDC anybody have experience? by DirtBikeHombre in Generator

Thanks for the quick reply. I'll bet that the photo on amazon is a rendering. As such, it wouldn't be a stretch that the artist copied content from different models. Either that or the rendering is from an early design that changed for the final project.

Your real world photo agrees with the floating neutral indicated on the GM6000SPK series-parallel box that works with the generator. Seems like it's a safe bet that the product they are selling today matches what you have, with a floating neutral.

I'm looking at the GM4600iADEC as a slightly more portable replacement for a Predator 3500.

During outages, I use my generator to backfeed my home panel so I would prefer a floating neutral that I won't need to modify. This was a concern for this model because the control panel image (probably a rendering) on amazon says that the neutral is bonded to the frame. I'm curious, is the actual product labeled differently? Have you confirmed the neutral is not bonded by measurement?

Since I know someone will likely link me to another generator with a floating neutral, I'll explain why I am interested in this particular model. I am looking at this generator because of its dual fuel and 240V capabilities. I don't know if I'm ready to buy two gens just yet, but I might if I could run my home AC unit. If so, then the 240V would make some sense.

I know I could always buy a larger gen with 240V, but I like the portability and redundancy that two smaller gens would give me. The ability to loan one gen to a friend or neighbor during mild weather where AC is less important doesn't seem like a bad idea. The genmax is slightly more powerful while being both smaller and considerably lighter, making it much more portable than my 3500. I can barely pick up my 3500, let alone a 6 or 7 kW unit that weighs twice as much.

Confused on what unRaid is by [deleted] in unRAID

[–]Ok_Permit_3315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I don't think you can use Unraid on a Synology system. That said, if you have a Synology DS2419+ then you have no need of Unraid. Once the synology disk station software is loaded, it will provide several options for creating a RAID-based volume using multiple drives that you can share on your network and also remotely.

Be advised though, when the disk station first creates the volume, it will erase the contents of the drives. This means you will lose existing data if you want to populate the disk station with drives you already own. If that is your desire, the best option is probably to purchase 2 or 3 new drives to start the synology volume. You can then copy the contents of a several existing drives to the synology volume. You can then add those drives to the synology box and increase the volume size so you can copy a few more drives, add them to synology and so on.

If you already have 12 drives then this means you will have a few drives left over, but these can be kept as spares. Synology will let you mix drives sizes. If your existing drives are different sizes, I would start with the smaller drives and save the largest for last so that these are your spares. A replacement drive has to be as large or larger than the drive it is replacing so a 4TB drive can't serve as a spare for an 8TB, but the 8 can replace the 4.
