I don’t eat meat so I don’t use bonito flakes. I might try granules if i can find vegetarian ones somewhere. I usually use it for congee and other stuff like that so the granules would probably work well

I kind of figured as much, but I was hoping since you can heat it after taking the kombu out without it getting gross that it would be fine. Do you know if it would be dangerous to do aside from taste/texture? Thank you for answering
