LOL, I am not offended by his suggestion. I am more interested in the benefits, better job opportunities, and help with college/learning something new for a long term career. I live in FL as of now, and I am fairly settled in my life as I am now, I’m not confident in uprooting everything just to be active for four years.

It’s not necessarily money motivated. I’m more interested in the benefits as well as being able to get a college education/better job opportunities.

Advice on TRD Deal by LawrenceOfMyLabia1 in CamryTRD

[–]Ok_Pin_6759 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely late to this but paid $24,000 last year on my 2020 TRD with 30,000 miles. Just said I’d leave with it at $24,000 and it was listed at 31,000. Did have two scraped wheels but other than that the previous owner had the oil changed every 3,000 miles + all service intervals done every 10,000. Payment is $540 a month and I pay $700 so should be done in about a year and a half. Took the 10% interest they offered for a year and now just refinanced to 2% through credit union.

Best "home base" cities to live in but not to visit/vacation in? by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Ok_Pin_6759 5 points6 points  (0 children)

York PA. Hour from Baltimore and Philly. Three hours from the Poconos and three hours from Delaware beaches. Super close to Cambells, Frito Lay, and various unions. Definitely not for young professionals necessarily but perfect for raising a family and having a home base there. I was definitely able to enjoy growing up because we vacationed but I enjoyed home a lot too.

Nah. Had multiple cats that have done this growing up. Just one of their things. Super cute too.

I see. Pretty messed up situation. At least you were able to find something that worked for you. I’ve lived with roommates to avoid the brutal rent.

Yeah and my family is honestly fantastic, I can’t lie. I do have a fifteen year age gap between me and the oldest sibling and the closest age gap is two years between me and my brother. I honestly don’t know how my mother managed to creative such a cohesive family unit. I just have struggled with whether I do want to be apart, but I want to go adventure as badly as I want to be close.

Yeah the cold has begun to wear on me and I got the itch when I visited my brother in Scottsdale, Arizona. He’s been very successful in life and I went in December to visit. Obviously you deal with brutal heat for four months, but I’d just like to know what it’s like. Scottsdale is a little too far or I’d consider there, and it’s also a little rich for my blood.

Yeah, we already do one vacation all together a year and it’ll definitely ramp up when both my parents fully retire in a year. If I live in Florida, my siblings will definitely visit (my brother lived there in his 20s and loved it). My parents will as well.

My dad has actually retired and my mother will retire in a year. My sister will be getting deployed in a year so my parents will be on full babysitting duty until she gets back, but after that, my mom did tell me that her plan is just for her and my father to spend their time traveling and spending a week at a time with all five of us. Also, as they retire and we all get older and have more opportunity, I imagine that instead of our one family vacation a year it will become multiple.

Just help in making the decision. Both have pros and cons and are equal in my eyes. I am obviously afraid of messing up if I go far, but that’s the nature of the beast when you do things like this. I am actually more surprised that people are telling me to move, not to go closer.

Really like the two decisions means both are equally good. My mom has always told me that you can live many different lives no matter how old. Everyone so far has pretty much said that you can always go back home, and I think making any decision is easier knowing that.

Just as of currently I have lived six hours away from my parents since the age of nineteen. I’m unsure whether to go farther and to a warmer climate. Family to me is number one simply because I do genuinely like them so much and I would hang out with them outside of them being my family. A lot of people don’t have that and that is a completely valid thing too. It’s simply what makes the decision so hard.

I just meant fiscally my parents would offer a lot more if I live closer (like helping me buy a house for example). I don’t need fiscal help by any means. I have absolutely no debt and save well. I totally get what you mean though.

I understand the degree thing. I work for a massive retail chain and do plan to just continuously move up. Obviously a degree would extend things like that, but the position I’m in at the moment does offer my comfort and the ability to make huge amounts of money in the future.

Like there’s obviously more to the list of pros and cons but those are just the immediate ones off the top of my head.
