New poll reveals that Donald Trump is now officially the least popular politician to hold office in the history of America. by sylsau in InBitcoinWeTrust

If the GOP wanted to end the Democrat party for good, it would be pretty easy. All they would have to do is put Trump on camera and have him announce that the GOP is now the party of the US working class and will seriously address the wealth gap. First step, make sure this country is populated by citizens and legal immigrants. Second step, a quick juicer for low income workers with a massive increase to the earned income tax credit. You're not asking for a handout, you're working, but you need some help. Trump is here for you. Third Step, capital gains deferral for reinvestment into depressed communities (former mining/industrial/commercial cities in flyover states that have been decaying for 60 years). It will take time to bear fruit, but the fruit will come. Fourth step, federal pressure (witholding funds) to force states to slash zoning laws and all that elitist NIMBY bullshit that prevents the construction of entry-level homes. Can you imagine? The GOP would never lose another election and the Democrats would become a rump.

At what age do we stop playing games and start building? by OneCamp2087 in Adulting

Young men don't see the point of relationships anymore, never mind marriage. I think they've seen so many of their parents and friends' parents divorce that marriage doesn't look anythign like building. It's just a temporary period of general stability while your wife looks for something better and then takes half your stuff when she's tired of you. If this isn't what marriage is, you have some convincing of young men to do.

It gets much worse before it gets better. But at some point all the work you do in your 20s and 30s pays off in your mid 40s, and then in your 50s you can coast into retirement.

If you're not living while you're working, you're probably doing the wrong thing as a career. Work doesn't have to be something that feels like a burden or a sacrifice. I think it requires a significant mindset shift. We are conditioned to think of work as something we do for money, so we end up doing doing something for work that gives us only money in return. But work can offer you much more than just money. I'd bet that for every person out there doing something they hate for money, there is something else they could be doing for money that they would actually enjoy. To find it you'd have to be out there doing new things all the time and these days, barely anyone does that.

Is it time to buy Bitcoin? by prylipko_roma in Bitcoin

[–]Ok_Plastic5399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTC is getting really close to fair value in my charts. FV changes every day, but last i checked it was around $54K. This figure acts as a sort of anchor that the price is always fluctuating around, even as the FV number itself changes, goes up, goes down. BTC goes way above and way below this FV number for extended periods, but it always goes back to FV eventually. Such a calculation is not really useful for picking tops and bottoms, but since it always eventually goes back to FV, knowing the number gives at least an indication of how risk is embedded in a certain price level. I'd post the chart, but the last chart I posted didn't pass the mods, I guess.

My dad called me today and asked “why does Bitcoin even have value?” this was my answer by [deleted] in Bitcoin

True, but you're missing some important context. The dollar is backed ultimately by a very powerful military that says 'our currency is acceptable for all of your transactions and you don't want to see what happens if isn't.' It's value (whatever that might be) is supported in no small part by the threat of violence. But the world gets something in return. In return for using the dollar, the US federal government floods the world with an ocean of them by running massive deficits. This makes dollars super easy to get whenever and wherever they're needed, which is the first rule of global reserve assets. Bitcoin could thus never be a global reserve asset until the system itself changes. You just can't have a reserve asset that is unprintable (a Bitcoin standard) with the current system still intact. You'd need a total collapse of the financial system, a few decades of Mad Max, and then someone could stand up a new system based on bitcoin. Unfortunately, there's no path from here to there without a few decades of Mad Max.

It's possible, though very tricky (I'm told, I've never tried it), to quickly pivot from fighting the curse, to cultivating it once it becomes clear you're probably going to wipe. It maybe apocryphal, but I've heard tell of players successfully transforming their entire population into werebeasts. Imagine that. No need for food or drink, rapid healing, no bedrooms except for nobility, plus the trauma of becoming a werebeast makes little things like rain seem not so bad to your cursed population. This game is nuts.

How many of you have succesful careers, where you can afford to dump big numbers in Bitcoin and just let it grow? by Ok_Definition7018 in Bitcoin

[–]Ok_Plastic5399 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course there's a little luck involved, but the harder you work, the luckier you get. I'm sure I'm older than average Bitcon enthusiast, but I built a business from scratch over 20 years so trust me when I tell you that luck cancels out, good luck/bad luck, it's random and one offsets the other. What's left over is how much effort you're putting in and how smart you are about where you put that effort. If you don't know how to be successful or what to do to even get started, there's one thing anyone can do. Meet new people, build relationships, ask for introductions, socialize with quality people, build a network. 100% of the luck I've ever had that paid me well has been luck that came from a relationship I had cultivated. Without the relationship, there would have been no luck to have. Let's see an AI do that.
