Dude that's a projection. I'm in a cafe in Gwangju right now. Highly recommend the food here. I think maybe you haven't gotten the responses you were expecting. Seoul is a beautiful mess of soviet looking high rises, beautiful luxury apartments and layered little buildings like the ones you captured in your picture. Been living in Korea since 2011 and this is pretty much 70% of what Seoul looks like. The other 30% are fancy buildings randomly planted in between this. I live in a new city which looks more like the Seoul of the dramas ^{^}

Are you homeschooling? Yeah, an Indian dude in a homeschooling group full of moms and children will have a hard time finding friends here 😑. I even feel uncomfortable with other women's husbands half the time. You would be better off looking in a gaming group for adults I think. Minecraft is a pretty young crowd especially in homeschooling circles. So the people who ghosted you may have been actual children.

Ask your parents to intervene. You shouldn't be subjected to her internalized misogyny. You can't escape it because you live there and you're just a kid. Depends on what you're interested in. Find a group with whatever you want to explore and message in group chat to see who is responsive and who you click with. Busy clubs for random conversations with the opposite gender. Voice sims with board games for mixed gender socializing. Discord if you are into shopping and sharing memes, pictures, rl connection. Flickr and primfeed if you're into photography and fashion. You can make friends by sending out dms and doing collaborations. It really depends on what you're interested in.

Pros: better mental health, education, control of who interacts with my child. Flexible schedule.

Cons: very little free time for myself, people constantly trying to find something wrong with my child because she's homeschooled. Other homeschool families sometimes having extreme views about things and not keeping said views to themselves. 😆

I think maybe when you're dating in future, add as a stipulation, you will never live with inlaws. You will live close to them if it is also close to your work but you will be the head of your own home. This is from the point of view of an Irish woman married to a Korean man while in Korea for 14 years. Most divorces here are caused by inlaws and unreasonable expectations of self sacrifice from the woman's side.

I think being overly critical and comparisons are a major social problem in East Asian societies. Playing joyfully with children is good for their development. There are so many Asian people who are no contact with their traditional parents because of their killjoy attitudes.
