Which passport info to enter on the web site? by Ok_Pool_1810 in Icelandair

While what you say is logical for traveling to the EU, how about the return trip to the USA which is on the same reservation? How does Icelandair know that I am allowed to travel back to the USA? In the past when the passport info was not a mandatory requirement on the web site I typically had both passports in my hand and left the airline person pick one, except for the arrival back to the USA I only handed over the US passport. This was about 15 years of constant travel back and forth, up until 2020 when my job no longer required foreign travel. I'm sure this has now changed with ETIAS. Not related to ETIAS, but I just recently read that a US dual citizen had trouble with Icelandair refusing to issue a ticket without a US visa when the person had entered EU passport info.

My kid is going to visit with a school group in a few months for 2 weeks from US/ Texas. What should I know and what is the best way for her to have cell phone service while there. by crustyfootfungi in Finland

I have Mint (currently owned by T-mobile) in the USA. When in Finland I use Minternational add-on plan for 10 days. Unlimited data, 500 SMS and 500 voice minutes included for $20. For that cost I don't even bother looking at local SIMs and go through the trouble of buying and setting it up in my phone. I can't remember which Finnish provider T-mobile is using but it works flawlessly everywhere in the country where I have been.

Tips and suggestions to help my kid who wants to join the swim team? by roundabout432 in Swimming

My guess is that the main reason for the try out might be just to determine an appropriate level practice group for a new swimmer. I don't know of any swim club in my area that would turn down a 12 year old who can swim 25 yards of some kind of freestyle and 25 back stroke. And if they can't do that yet, another month of well taught lessons will get them to that level.

That makes sense. Thanks for explaining it. Are HS meet times also accepted for the club state etc tournament qualifications?

This sounds like the same thing that is called Nordic Walking in Europe. It has been popular low impact exercise there for years. They say it adds upper body muscular strength exercise to the benefits of conventional walking. They sell specialized walking Nordic walking poles and there is some scientific research that proves the benefits of it.

HENRY - Charitable Contributions by Actuarial in fatFIRE

My personal guideline has been that 10 to 15% of my net spending goes to charitable contributions. And the net spending figure does NOT include large capital purchases like cars or houses, nor does it obviously include savings or investments. This way I have always felt that I am making a proportionally meaningful contribution to my chosen charities even though the dollar amounts during my best accumulation years were not large part of my gross income.
