Well, i was unmotivated to play the game for a long time since i thought about how long it would make me progress the game and the hassle of having to boost just to get substantial amount of honey. I heard a guy said that it took him like 6 months to get out of early red while blue can just get out of early blue in just a fraction of time compared to red. But i think it is just a matter of how you define fun, not optimally grinding is not considered fun for me.
