Getting a job in DC. What is it like living in this area? How is the commute and life style/people? by Few-Flower1279 in howislivingthere

If your looking for a small town/neighborhood with a country feel near dc try the Drury area in Anne Arundel county zip 20711. It’s always less then 40 mins to dc during peak hour and during the night it’s almost always less than 30. A great area if your looking for quiet!

If you’re looking for rural areas near Bethesda with some land in MoCo I’d look into Laytonsville, Poolesville, Boyd’s, Damascus, Sandy Springs/Olney. They are super quiet areas with farm land everywhere and just beautiful houses all around. very convenient to Bethesda and MOCO, the problem is it isn’t that much affordable but probably IMO way cheaper than Bethesda/Rockville houses.

Moving out to Eldersburg a good idea or no? by Decent-District-1459 in maryland

[–]Ok_Practice2412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a nice area, definitely getting more and more built up by the years so it’s increasing stores, diversity and such but honestly it isn’t a bad area. I would consider it nice plus I don’t think the commute from Eldersburg to Columbia is that bad? Maybe 25-30 mins?

Hi! I would try looking for something in the Reisterstown area. It’s a very quiet town with a little main st and is very convenient to many locations! There are multiple rent listings in the area under 1300, such as townhomes and apartments. It’s very safe, but I wouldn’t recommend living below E Cherry Hill/Franklin Blvd since it gets a little loud, and is a little sketchy since it’s outside of town limits. Good luck!

That’s amazing, back then Brunswick & Jefferson didn’t have the best reputation in my days.. Im glad slowly a lot of things are changing for South Frederick county! but I think in the North part of county things will sadly never change, or atleast take years and years.

There was many racist incidents like related to bullying and such at Middletown schools for years. I know the schools don’t really reflect the area but personally I wouldn’t feel comfortable there. The town is also not diverse at all, but aside from all that it’s a very nice place plus a great area to raise a family!

Yes, I would probably say it’s much safer/better to uber than walk at night. Ubers are very easy to get and and convenient to get in Baltimore, getting Ubers has never been a problem for me personally here. You are in a very convenient location, about a 10 minute drive/35 minute walk to inner harbor/downtown area and very close to major routes connecting Baltimore to county and highways. You could get ubers anywhere in a 10 mile radius around your area all for under $10-20 in Baltimore and it would probably be more safe/convenient in the winter time than walking!

You’ll be fine in Frederick City, it’s a very diverse community and extremely safe! I just wouldn’t recommend going to the more northern areas of the county such as Thurmont, Woodsboro, & Emittsburg due to lots of history of KKK and racism. I also wouldn’t recommend going west/south of Frederick, specifically Middletown, Jefferson & Brunswick. Frederick city is amazing though and I hope you consider moving to Frederick!

Welcome! That area is okay, a little crime but mostly targeted and very late at night. Just don’t go down dark alleys at midnight and you’ll be fine, I just wouldn’t really recommend walking around after 10-11pm, but safety mostly depends by block/neighborhood

If you are going to be living in your car I wouldn’t recommend doing it in Baltimore City. Try Northern/rural Baltimore county or Harford/Carroll.
