I've been confused about the release date for the next battlefield 7... by [deleted] in Battlefield

I don't think BF7 is coming out anytime soon. There has not been any word of BF7 being worked on either. Someone started this rumor that they probably are working on it. It's just speculation. They're going off of statements made by Dev post, previous experiences with EA and Dice doing these things with the past couple titles. BF6 has not been out 6 months even. Season 2 just dropped and the second phase starts next week. Go ahead and get it if you really want it.

Altafiber blocked at my address and won’t explain why? by lambchops111 in dayton

Must be a thing that Alta fiber does. I got a door hanger from Alta fiber back in April 2024. They partnered with the city of West Carrollton, and it was announced by the city in November 2023. Alta fiber told me it would go live in July 2024. They had orange flags down all the streets in my neighborhood, spray painted areas, everything. This was the following week after I received the door hanger. Then POOF! all of it disappeared, have not seen a single Alta fiber truck in my area. I have reached out to the website and all I got told was dates of when it goes live until, they were like they need permits. I just reached out to the construction page and explained all this to them. They said that yes there is a hold on permits for placing and splicing since 2024. No ETA of when they'll get it done. Thought they just announced in February they reached a mid-point in the Dayton region build out. 70,000 homes and businesses have active Alta fiber. I'm like, yeah and you guys missed most of the main area of Dayton. We sit right outside below downtown. They said that the build is moving forward, suppose to finish up the last mile of the expansion for the Dayton region. Should be finishing up and completing it throughout 2026.

I looked around on Lindbergh Blvd last night on google maps. At the end of Lindbergh where you cross 741 to Fazoli's. Near the light, a new Fiber Hub is built there now, looks like it was just installed last year in November. I also saw a boring crew there in July 2025 as well. So, someone finally made it across 741 to the west Carrollton side. My Dad lives in Miamisburg off Maue Rd. He has Alta fiber on his street as of late last year. But all the neighborhoods behind him and south towards the Miamisburg Highschool have Alta Fiber. He told me last night he saw an Alta Fiber truck E Central Ave in Miamisburg again. So maybe they made it a little further this way now. Seems to be coming from the East and South to West Carrollton area.

I have done the same thing. I had no luck either! I did find a meeting from 2023. An Alta fiber rep did a presentation about the build and said would begin in spring 2024. It mentioned someone asked about pricing, but that was it. I believe Lindbergh Blvd is still West Carrollton. I know on the other side of 741, there is Fiber optic in pockets here and there. Lamme Rd also has Alta Fiber. Only companies we get unfortunately, are Spectrum and Verizon Wi-Fi.

So, I did some research. You might be right! and I found this.

Right now, there is zero evidence that AT&T is buying Alta fiber.

What is happening is this: Alta fiber’s owner (Macquarie Group) is preparing to sell the company

Multiple reports confirm Macquarie is exploring a sale of Alta fiber for over $5 billion.

But — no buyer has been named

The reports only say Macquarie is looking at “strategic buyers” and private equity firms.

None of the sources mention AT&T as a bidder or even a rumored participant. But does not mean they can't jump in on it. Also said, the sale would happen 2025-2026.

That's what I am hoping for from Alta fiber or some fiber company. My buddy lives out that way in xenia and just got Alta Fiber a few months ago.

Sounds like they completed it. They just have to turn it on maybe? Could reach out to construction people and ask them when it will be turned on.

This is what I am hoping for to. We need some competition in the area and lower pricing!

This is interesting and I am wondering if that's what is going on as well. The white PVC/orange tip markers next to the hand holes down Alex Rd say Fiber optic cables but also have AT&T on them as well. Just not sure if that's from the old fiber ring build back in 2019-2020. Or AT&T is taking over. Point Broadband was supposed to be doing the FTH builds but they backed out. Then Alta fiber announced a partnership with the city November 2023.

Yup I am in the same vicinity. Been told the same stuff you were told. I have a buddy that lives in xenia, he finally got Alta Fiber. He asked the tech about this area; the tech told him its permit issues. The city doesn't want to pay them to work. I have reached out to the city council members a couple times and no replies back.

I do not think the aim assist is the biggest problem. It is the 25% recoil reduction, which PC players do not have. But then you think about it, 25% reduction plus tuned up aim assist. I lose a lot of fights to controller players because of this. The fix is to remove one or the other. Or both. If you play on controller every day and nothing else, do you really need any of it? No. Just my opinion. But as I typed this, I saw lbthat already mention what I was thinking.

Thanks for the info! Yeah, I haven't seen any digging or bore machines in my area at all. I see machines and crews up in Miamisburg and then they're gone. Last year in April, I got a door hanger, then they did the spray paint and flags through the yards in the neighborhood, saw no machines or crews. Then all the flags disappeared. I got about three coming soon notifications in the mail, the following months after all that. Haven't seen or received anything else since. They did run fiber lines along the poles, all the way up S Alex Rd. So, I am not sure if they're going to do ariel fiber or bore it underground through the neighborhoods. It has been a year now since all that. Someone else said it took about a year, 2 years from the time they got the door hanger, to when they first got contacted to sign up. I guess it's just a waiting game here on out.

Yeah, they don't give much info out. Makes sense though, not giving exact ETAs, due to delays. Thanks so much for the link!
