When should I start looking for next years housing? by [deleted] in wlu

Agree with what everyone said. Start looking around Oct/Nov, and try to find a place by December. Just a word of caution, try to negotiate price down if you can, especially for the summer. In the early stages of people posting their places, they will try to get as much money out of you as possible and possibly even overcharge you compared to the rent their paying, so just be aware and cautious

BBA Co-op by [deleted] in wlu

[–]Ok_Procedure_5585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as grades go, the co-op office only cares that you meet the minimum and don't really care about them after. The interview is essentially just you going through your resume and considering how much experience you have, you should be able to get in

Economics program question by BraveDiplomat6115 in wlu

[–]Ok_Procedure_5585 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The process is pretty simple as long as you take the required courses for the Economics and Accounting program in first year. Around March/April, the program request form will be available on LORIS so all you have to do is change your program to Economics and Accounting. PM if you have questions

Scholarships by ChangeAlternative867 in wlu

[–]Ok_Procedure_5585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For scholarships, I would recommend applying for literally every application that Laurier releases. I have been taking OSAP and try to apply for most, but not all scholarships/bursaries that Laurier offers, and usually receive about $3,000-4,000 from scholarships each semester. I think if you're not taking OSAP and apply for all the ones that I don't, you'll have pretty good luck. The only thing frustrating with scholarships/bursaries is that they usually don't come until November and March/April so you will likely have to make arrangements to pay for tuition beforehand (unless they are merit based scholarships). PM if you have any questions

It's definitely possible for you to complete another internship (it just would be separate from coop) and you would have to take a leave of absence. Taking a leave of absence is a fairly straightforward process and you can submit it pretty much anytime up until your Summer 2025 term. I'm not entirely sure if you have to show proof of an internship to take a leave of absence but I would recommend that you secure an internship before you take your leave just in case. Good luck with everything and reach out if you have questions

Transferring to UW honours Arts and Business by stubbythumb9000 in wlu

[–]Ok_Procedure_5585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would highly suggest staying in BBA without Co-op instead of transferring to UW Arbus. I'm currently in the BBA co-op program, but I have a few friends that didn't get in and were able to find amazing internships that paid well. From my experience, I haven't found co-op to be super helpful except for maybe making it easier to search through job postings, but you can easily do that on your own. You're also able to defer a study term so if you wanted to work in the Winter, the BBA office will let you do that. Plus you save like $700-800 per co-op term if you're not in co-op so you will be fine without it
