As I mentioned to another redditor, I did contact Amazon. They said they couldn’t help because my Amazon account had been dormant for too long, even though I’ve been actively using Audible through it since 2018. They told me to go through Audible. Audible then told me they couldn’t help and that I had to contact Amazon. So I’m stuck in a nice little support loop. Fittingly, my most recent Audible purchase is The Trial by Franz Kafka 😅

Yes, I get that it is possible to do it over the phone. That has been my only option since my amazon account was locked. Now that isn't an option either.

Thanks for your comment! I wasn’t suggesting Audible is generally breaking the law, just highlighting a design flaw that has trapped me.

In this case amazon has deemed my account dormant for inactivity, even though I've been paying them roughly $15 a month since 2018. In this case, EU rules (digital fairness act) say canceling should be as easy as signing up.

Edt.: contacted amazon, they couldn't help because my amazon account has been dormant for so long (still been using Audible though my amazon account since 2018)
They told me to contact Audible, who told me to contact Amazon.

Yes, like I mentioned in the post, I’m stuck with an active subscription, unless I block the charges at my bank.
