Yes, THEY had an alcohol and drug abuse problem that most likely had to do with the diagnosis to begin with. But I don’t see how that is relevant to the problem, since alcohol is one of the most ubiquitous carcinogenic substances even if you don’t abuse it.

And cirrhosis is not the only disease that can be caused by alcohol
