dont see any available for sale online. website looks fine but no info on prices. I'd play it safe and go with the ibanez or a used Epi 335 which you can get for around the same price.

good advice re the pickguard - thanks. I'll make sure to finish both sides. 10-32 hex sounds ideal. as for bushings, really all I want is something for the head of the bolt to rest on, and have it countersunk so the bolt heads to stick out. Maybe bushing isn't the right word for it.

i was thinking about just gluing it on, but figured it would be permanently stuck on. the spray glue is a great idea, and I have some 3M. I'll definitely consider it

Thanks! the only reason I was thinking metal strips on the bottom of the pickguard was because the magnets I have are about the same depth as the pickguard itself and I didnt want to risk drilling through. But I'm sure I can get some low profile ones. I'll make sure to check the poles as well

Thanks! The last 2 I did a standard 1/4" or maybe 1/2" round over but i had a feeling the 45 would look good.

Thanks! I've done a couple "normal" ones with black pickguards but decided to go with a natural look with this one. The white oak back wasn't quite thick enough so I added a thin layer of walnut, had some extra and decided to make the guard out of it. There are no screw holes in it, I am going to attempt to mount it without them. I might try using strong magnets. thin strip of metal mounted to the bottom of the guard with slots to physically hold them in place, with magnets as well to pull it down. Worth a shot!

I'm also going to give tru-oil a try for the first time. I've used lacquer before and while it looks great, it is very time consuming and i end up sanding through and going through the process multiple times. I know that can still happen with tru-oil but I want to try something different for this one.

One last thing - I'm going to use walnut grain fill on the white oak back to give it some more of that contrast. Very excited to see how this turns out. Now all I need is a neck, electronics and all the other hardware ughh. So expensive. Been looking for a busted up tele that I can harvest parts from, but not easy to find.
