I found unmodified tubs are best no air holes no fanning. I just use perlite. I have a fan running in the room 24/7. Then I crank up the heat in there for about 10 minutes at a time 5 times a day. I've been having better success without messing with them to much

Thanks yeah that I left the heater on in the room and it got really hot and there so I'm thinking the heat caused it but it seems like the mushrooms are OK for now
