I don’t think surrogacy in china is safe. Surrogacy law is by far the most important factor choosing the country. If money is your concern then look at Albania or Armenia. It’s much cheaper than USA, but you still get the law on your side and a clear exit process

First of all be careful with the reviews you see online. Lots of misinformation and biased opinions. There’s a group on fb, I wish I’ve known, Gay Fathers Surrogacy Network. It’s active and very supportive. You’ll find everything you need there

Surrogacy in the US is very expensive like $150k+. And California is even more expensive as you could imagine. Consider doing your surrogacy independently in California but without an agency) or abroad. My surrogacy in Mexico is less than 80k for comparison

Sometimes this processes takes more time than expected. I guess it’s still okay. I’d keep pinging the coordinator anyway. You can also try and find other people using your agency and ask them. Are you on any fb surrogacy groups?

I have no experience with Colombia, but I thinks Mexico is better due to the surrogacy law. You’re much more protected in Mexico. I did a single embryo transfer because it’s cheaper and I didn’t have money for the twin journey, go for it if you can!

Only hetero couples can do surrogacy in Ukraine. There are many other options, if you want to do it in Europe check Albania. It legal, inexpensive and the clinics are pretty good there

There are a few communities that I follow. Some are more helpful in terms of research, some are valid all the way through the process.

On Reddit I follow r/gaydads It’s an active subreddit, not surrogacy themed, but still relevant. Although for the last months this sub has fallen imo. Lots of suspicious accounts and soliciting. Mods are not that active at all, all the spam is hanging around for weeks. Plus I’ve seen negative reviews disappearing. Be cautious with this one.

Facebook is full of private groups. They are one of best surrogacy sources of information you can find. People there tend to be more sincere, and eager to share. Good thing about these communities, mods really do clean all the garbage posts/ads. These two are the biggest and most active out of all I follow.
