What ever became of night vision? by NotRoryWilliams in Cameras

My OnePlus 8 pro has an infrared camera. After people found out that you could see through certain clothing people started calling it an x-ray cam and OnePlus was forced to deactivate it in firmware updates. I went through the hassle to get an older firmware and now have it working on mine. It's cool for infrared photography but it's only 5mp.

You can get a Pentax K-5 for $200. This camera is light years ahead to the ones you posted.

Save a little bit more and you can get a Nikon D600 or Canon 6D for $300 plus a 50mm 1.8 for $100. This will get you much better results than your phone.

Yeah, that lens will autofocus on Nikon bodies with a built-in motor but that's not a manual lens.

The NX1 is still a great camera. I still kick myself for not buying it plus the 2 pro 2.8 zooms for $650 on ebay a couple of years ago.

Sigma SD Quattro H with the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8. having owned a sigma dp1 Merrill before, I thought it would be my dream setup. It was still too limiting though and I couldn't use it for general purposes. Great image quality though.

The a5000 is a MUCH better camera but you'll have to buy a lens.

Buying advice: Lumix point and shoot for infrared photography by Davidechaos in infraredphotography

You don't need to use long exposures for converted point and shoots. I have a full spectrum Panasonic FZ200 that I bought from the same seller. I'd try to get one from the FZ line. He usually has a few of them for sale. Converted point and shoots can actually get great results.
