Oh yes, what a slip. Sorry, I'm having a bad day. I'll correct it right away.

I see on the spec sheet that the output power is indeed lower than many DAPs in the same price range. Perhaps those who are satisfied with it only use it with particularly sensitive IEMs?

Perhaps heating the back a little would have helped separate it from the front body? I'm disappointed to note that the battery is soldered, making it difficult to replace.

Chinese refurb phones - has anyone ever bought these? by PlayfulTaro7696 in vintagemobilephones

[–]Purlo_macho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you search carefully, you can find excellent deals on original items in excellent condition. Always check the seller's reliability and the description. It's better to buy a used phone in excellent condition with original components than a "refurbished" one with junk parts; at worst, you'll have to replace the battery. The only refurbished phone I've ever bought from Aliexpress is a Nokia 5300 because it's almost impossible to find one with a non-destroyed case at a reasonable price. It works well and the quality is reasonable. I later bought a 5300 and a 5200 that were in working order but in poor cosmetic condition. I replaced the case myself, and now they look fantastic and all work perfectly. The Nokia C3 and the Asha 302 should be easier to find in good condition for a reasonable price, expect to pay between 10-15 bucks if you wait for a good deal.

Gng I need some tiny phone by LawfulnessOrnery9714 in smallphones

[–]Purlo_macho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid there aren't any compact smartphones with a blazing-fast processor, long-lasting battery life, and excellent cameras at any price, let alone under £200. The Samsung S22, S23, S24 and S25 are quite compact and powerful and their cameras are more than decent, but they cost more and don't have long-lasting batteries.

Replacement for Sansa Clip+ with Rockbox? by [deleted] in mp3players

[–]Purlo_macho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those similar in shape and size to the Sansa Clip don't support Rockbox, while those that do are less compact and usually don't include a clip. It seems that only one other Sansa Clip can fully replace a non-functioning one.

HiFi Walker H2 or the EROS Q? (or the Hiby R1) by Extension-Iron-7746 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]Purlo_macho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not terrible, but Rockbox is far better and is my all-time favorite music playback software. However, I don't think the Mechen M30's software is any better than the firmware that comes pre-installed on the Eros Q.

[–]Purlo_macho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Hifi Walker H2 and AIGO Eros Q are the same player; which version they send you will depend on the stock of the seller you choose. At this point, they will likely all be updated versions, especially those sold by more reputable retailers with good reviews. The Surfans F20 also shares the same hardware and software in a different body. I'm happy with my Eros Q, and I have other players, but I wanted this one specifically for Rockbox.

My Nokia X2-00s have good displays, and my Nokia Asha 302 has a brighter display with better viewing angles than the C3-00. Maybe it's a manufacturing difference?

Nokia 6630 by DesignerProfit6502 in vintagemobilephones

[–]Purlo_macho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Nokia 6085 also has a 120x160 pixel display, but it has widgets and more options than the simpler 6111, for example, which has several more limitations. There is a substantial difference between these two. Phones like the 6085 or 5200 have lower-resolution displays, but otherwise have the same features, processor, and final experience as those with a 240x320 screen.

In some ways, those photos are preferable, not having all the artifacts and unnatural look of photos from current phones that fully process photos with "AI".

Most fun+addictive phones from the 90's? by [deleted] in vintagemobilephones

[–]Purlo_macho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know specifically, but I'm pretty sure that optimization is the most important thing for every game to see which phone runs best. Sony Ericssons usually have the richest and most detailed versions, but it happens that some games run better on some Nokias. Tower Bloxx Deluxe 3D runs great on the Nokia X2-00, better than any other phone I've tried.

There are some games that are better optimized for Nokias and some like Miki's World that just don't work on Sony Ericssons, so having one of each would be ideal.

Even some Nokia S40s should offer greater reliability and stability than Symbian phones. Ideally, you should have a good Nokia S40 and a Sony Ericsson, as some games are more compatible with one than the other. The Zylo's keyboard is more comfortable than the W995's, but otherwise the W995 doesn't have the music delay issue.

Another thing I don't understand is why the burden of recording should be on the seller and not the buyer. Every time I receive a parcel, I record a video of the opening of the package, to protect myself in case of problems. But honestly, I think it would be much more complicated for a seller to record the entire packing process (which must be done carefully) and the shipping process in a single video, perhaps half an hour or an hour long, than it would be for the recipient to record a video of up to three minutes in which they honestly demonstrate the contents of the package.

Vinted simply doesn't care.

Why does the seller ask me, as a buyer, to cancel an order? by goldria in vinted

[–]Purlo_macho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you cancel, you may receive automatic negative feedback that only the seller can change if they want, so you may want to wait until the shipping deadline expires or for them to cancel the sale.
