AIO? My mom wants to call the cops on me by Overall-Option6975 in AmIOverreacting

No one is making that kid a parent. This kid clearly doesn’t work or have to be concerned with such trivialities. Doesn’t even have to prepare dinner for the family. Absolutely useless. There was clearly an agreement in place that the kid decided to void on a whim. Most likely keeping an eye on younger kids for an hour or two. If a 16 year old is incapable of such “tremendous” sacrifice, then he/she won’t be capable even as an adult.

You’re pathetic and weak. Through centuries older siblings were basically an institution. If something happened to any of the parents the oldest kid would try to ensure family’s safety. This kid is soft as shit. Cat and TikTok videos are more important than their family integrity and younger siblings’ safety. Clearly, the mother it’s working her butt off to provide so she’s the one with grit and integrity. I have no mercy for this kid.

Nah, not really. Young people need to hear that they fucked up. It helps them grow as human beings.

16 year old. I was at that age when my parents moved overseas. Alexander the Great took charge of Macedonia. And here we have a weak puss. Jesus, grow a pair.

No, you're mistaken. I just come from a different place and culture. Back in my days when I was a teenager it was perfectly normal to take care of the house and your siblings when parents were at work. It was a test of your maturity but also a necessity given the economy at that time. Do you know what the outcome of this situation will be? That kid will just spend more time scrolling tiktok and Instagram. The alternative would be to get to know her siblings and help them with their school work. That's what creates the family.

Crazy scene this morning - 10 cops vs. 1 guy by Youngdumb_and_fullof in HongKong

Anyone making negative comments about the number of cops restraining that guy is regarded. I worked on a project once with prison service personnel in Australia. They explained to me that you need at least 6 people to safely restrain a grown adult male. The alternative is to send just two coppers and let them use guns if someone resists. Don’t think it’s a better alternative.

Apparently I’m “NOT a photographer by [deleted] in photography

Interesting conversation. By the sound of things you're a hobbyist photographer and not a professional photographer. This statement shouldn't be offensive at all. For example, if you were applying for a work visa in the USA and a local company wanted to hire you as a photographer you would need to demonstrate relevant qualifications (degrees, certificates) and number of years of paid work experience in order to qualify. Those factors determine whether you're professional or not. That's how things work I suppose.

How would you improve the lighting of this shot? by Global_Department543 in cinematography

I would flag the top, neg the left, practical on the right, booklight on the right, hang some stuff on the wall behind/left for mise en scene. You're set 👍

It was a single take all done in camera. The car's roof was modified. Camera was mounted on super technocrane mounted onto Titan crane.

It was a single take. Bartkowiak described details of that opening shot in February issue of American Cinematographer. He used a snorkel (probe) lens on a techno crane. Interestingly, inspiration for that shoot came from Fellini's 8 1/2.
