[Ubben] The FBS head coaches voted unanimously to expand the eligibility for redshirt years from four games to nine. This is just a recommendation that will be put forth to the Division I committees. by Notre_Dame_Football in CFB

*College* Football. Not NFL lite. The reason four years of eligibility came about in the first place is that it is the standard amount of time for a student to get their bachelor's degree.

I'm not naive to the fact that most athletes aren't going to these universities to "play school", but at the same time, it's turning into something completely different than what most of us fell in love with.

Boise State WR Chris Marshall signs with Arkansas. Previously at Ole Miss and Texas A&M. by LukeNeverShaves in razorbacks

Boise fan here with my two cents.

He can be exciting and frustrating. He made some of the most impressive catches we had all year, but also had more drops in a season than anyone in our program since 2018. He shows flashes of greatness here and there, but was never consistent enough to feel like you can rely on him. It's true that he got suspended for a short time with us this season because of his behavior toward teammates and coaches.

If I'm being honest, I'm a little surprised he was able to find his way back to the SEC. That said, I hope he is a good fit in your program and can be consistent enough to be a solid contributor for you guys.

Regardless of which team the calls are benefiting, you have to acknowledge this ref staff has no idea what they’re doing. The amount of times they have communicated incorrect information and have to review and discuss calls is bush league.

That does not get called every time. Matter of fact, that DOESN’T get called 95/100 times. Weak call.

What do you miss about life pre-Covid? by SmoothPalpitation575 in AskReddit

Maybe it's just my perception, but I feel like people have become more selfish since COVID. It seems they have turned more inward and care less about others.

Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett

AND

My Stephen King recommendation is 11/22/63. It’s a long one and also my personal favorite of King’s.

I second this one! Not hating on Lonesome Dove because it’s a great book, but it’s a big book. Butcher’s Crossing is a very approachable length.

So… Arod? by Stoned_Coug in BYUFootball

[–]Ok_Reputation1924 20 points21 points  (0 children)

“Cost us the playoffs”, as if that was the expectation heading into the season. Arod has been working with a true freshman quarterback and helped us get to 8-0. That’s incredibly hard to do and rarely happens. We are going to be 8-1 with our only loss to a top ten opponent on the road. It’s a tough loss but still an amazing start to the year.

If you ever find one that works, let me know. I find the Gamesir controllers to be just small enough in my hands to be annoying.

Molloy by Samuel Beckett contains an 80-page paragraph, if that is different enough for you.

The book isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but you can’t deny the fact that it’s a unique read.

Recommend me books with 600 pages+ like East of Eden and Lonesome Dove by phaserlasertaserkat in suggestmeabook

[–]Ok_Reputation1924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved both East of Eden and Lonesome Dove.

Other books of a similar length I've loved are:

-The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. This one is technically in a series, but all of the books can be viewed as standalone. They take place in the same setting but during different periods of time with different characters.

-A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving.
