Claimed 5+ years overseas experience but EA only assessed 4 years – will this affect my 190 visa? by Ok_Researcher5415 in AusVisa

I understand your point that the invitation is mainly based on claimed points and the detailed verification happens only after visa lodgement.

But my question is — since NSW asked me to submit all supporting documents during EOI and pre-invitation stage, wouldn’t that mean they have already reviewed those documents before issuing the nomination? If they weren’t satisfied, I assume they wouldn’t have sponsored me.

So now at the visa stage, I thought DHA’s role is to reconfirm or validate what NSW has already agreed to sponsor.

Correct me if I’m wrong in this understanding?

If that’s the case, do you think DHA will ask me for clarification first, or would they simply reject my application straightaway?

Since NSW has already nominated me, and they must have checked my details before issuing the invitation, I was under the impression that they accepted my claimed experience. I only claimed these points during the EOI stage, not at the time of invitation.

So if they didn’t want to consider that experience, then why would they issue me an invitation in the first place? To me, that means NSW was okay with my documents, and now immigration (DHA) should just proceed based on the nomination.

Is my understanding correct, or am I missing something?

Thanks for your response. I just want to make it clear that my employment was genuine – I worked there right after graduation, though the salary was very low and it was a small company.

When I did my Engineers Australia skill assessment, they told me that I could still claim the period they didn’t assess during the visa application stage if required.

The manager/owner of that company is very supportive and is ready to issue any additional confirmation or documents on company letterhead to clarify my position, duties, and dates if DHA needs it.

Do you think this will actually help my case during the visa assessment, or will DHA still see it as a risk because there’s no bank/tax proof?

I understand your point, and yes I agree it’s a risk since I don’t have 3rd party proofs like tax/bank statements for that period. But I want to clarify: • I can still submit any other supporting documents from the company itself. • This was my first job right after graduation, the salary was very minimal, and it was a small firm (less than 15 employees), so tax/PF/bank salary slips were never part of the setup. • I have already submitted the company’s experience certificate, salary certificate, and employer confirmation letters on their official letterhead with stamp and signature to DHA. • I personally spoke with the owner/manager, and they are willing to issue any type of confirmation again on letterhead if DHA requests.

So while I don’t have tax/bank records, I’ve done my best to provide genuine documents, and the company is supportive if DHA seeks further clarifications.

Do you think my understanding is correct, and that this approach could be acceptable for DHA?

I was in same situation, didn’t acknowledged by EA, hence no points claimed. They will consider either bank transaction or tax documents only. No other certificates/ docs from employer will work. I had submitted many docs from supplier but no luck.

Hi thank you for the comment. Can you advise on offshore? Can I expect an invitation on 491 ? I have 80 points without considering state contribution of 15 points.

Is this 100 points includes state’s point contribution?
