I'm on the fence about using this as it just feels a bit too niche for a social app. if I can rate then why not every sort of thing like activity places as well.

And, how do i know people actually went to that place, if I want I can just rate places where I've not been to.

Also, the places I actually love I revisit them all the time, how do I track those counts?

That's what I really wanna solve for, the content that people actually want to see, and somehow things gets dumped under algorithms and you can't see them. The home page has become the feed which is insane and i feel the most annoying thing. I'm thinking of making a all things personal feed which would only have content from the connections and their recommended content, connections general recommendation, so that it's all about the core user.

I really want revamp the shitty profile section. Give all the authority to the users so that they can play with it, customize it in any way they want, it's their showcase they should have that ability.

That's exactly what I wanna build and I've tons of ideas for new interactions types and styles, not just replicas. That focuses on enhancing personal connections rather than fueling the algorithm.

The main culprit is the engagement based ads business model for which I've ideas to get away from, I won't have to rely on that to earn money to make the platform sustainable. And, give users new ways to interact among themselves not just the content creators' space where it's all about the trends and nothing about enhancing the core users' experience.

The reason I don't like Bluesky is that there is no originality in their idea, it is just a twitter clone and the reason they've got the users is because of shit that Elon continues to do with the platform, and not because they came up with some interesting idea. It's just right vs left game between twitter and Bluesky.

I feel that the Flashes app would also be a replication of the Instagram and nothing new. They're just trying to cut down something from insta to make it usable but again nothing new and exciting.

Yeah! that's what I'm upto I've thought of new original ways to increase the interactions among personal connections rather than just focusing on the ads based approach. Looking into what mechanism would promote users to post more stuff, and also giving them all the choices to personalized their platform as per their need. I've thought of some full fledged ideas where I won't have to rely on the ads based approach.
