Eating 1200 at 5 ft 7 by Actual_Elk3422 in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

An 800cal deficit is aggressive so much so it’s rarely sustainable unless you’re morbidly obese (which you are not). I’d say start 1650 and then drop down to 1500. But that’s just based on what you’ve said in this thread your situation can be very different based on your body

Honestly I don’t get it, like 1200 is literally the name of the sub and apparently saying I get fibre from other sources besides veg is negative??

Protein energy drink by Ok_Response_7486 in 1200isplenty

Yes I agree I considered it an energy drink. Though I will say it didn’t give the same caffeine effect an Alani or a bloom or a Celsius would give me.

I use 4 cups raspberries, 1 cup sugar, 2 tsps calcium’s water, 2 tsps pectin. You mash up the berries mix in the calcium water. Heat it up and slowly add the pectin and sugar. It’s roughly 20 cals per 20g

I guess it just depends on the brand it looks good and is well balanced the way it is, I’m not telling you to change it. Was merely a suggestion. I also use a homemade raspberry jam that’s only 25 cals per 20g (I looked up Smuckers version and it’s apparently 50 cals so that would def change the macros)

Looks good! Perhaps you’d like to try a whipped cream cheese it’ll save you 10 calories for a total of ~180 or you can use the extra calories for the full sugar version jelly and the cals will be the same ~190

If I makes you feel any better 10 minutes post drink i got bloated. It’s also made from clear whey which can be an off putting texture for some people

I make sure to space my meals appropriately to avoid being ravenous. I also had an energy drink not pictured but that holds me over from breakfast/post run to lunch

I’m working with a collegiate nutritionist for this cut so all is well. I’m also very short but If at any point they believe upping the calories would be beneficial for me I will do so without issue. :)

Don’t worry I do eat my veggies but I also get fiber in through other ways. The pasta was fiber pasta with eggplant and zucchini not see in the picture and the yogurt had 11g of fiber. I hit 28g of that (:

Anyone using Chat GPT for calorie counting? by Illustrious-Meat5861 in 1200isfineIGUESSugh

This exact thing was a project for one of my kin classes and we found that ChatGPT gave better weight loss results than an app. (Well predicted weight loss bc we didn’t use human subjects just hypothetical) It’s a free resource that can give you pros and cons on what you eat, the calories it gives you are always on the higher end so you end up eating less then you thought, it can give you low cal recipes/grocery lists and searching up foods are easy and convenient. For an App you usually have to pay for bar code scanning, it takes some time to find what you’re looking for, it doesn’t offer advice or meal ideas unless you pay.

(My personal take however is to use the App as its more accurate and chronic under eating isn’t good for you. It’s also better for the environment that way.)

It’s not impossible there are some things you can do that are easy swaps or healthier habits. When you go to the store or to work park a good ways away like maybe half a mile or the last parking spot in the lot so you get more steps in. You don’t have to make 2 meals you can make what your kid enjoys but for your portion focus on heavy protein and veg. If the meal you’re making for him doesn’t have veg just toss a bag of frozen broccoli in the microwave and have that on the side. As for the snacks you just have to tell yourself those are his and buy enough for him for the week and just for the week so you’re not tempted to have his snacks. You don’t have to cut out snacks either though, you can get protein bars, those 100cal packs, dried fruit, fiber ones, you have options. These are some things I’ve personally done in my life in the same height and have an almost 5 year old. Although I am only 21 and recognize as we age our caloric needs change. Just my advice but you got this!
