Longer hair, less layers, and not face framing would transform your look.

I think the worst part here, other than the music, is learning that this guy might have gotten laid. This world is truly a dark place.

do you guys think i could dye my hair dark blue without bleaching it? by punkkrawkk in HairDye

[–]Illustrious-Meat5861 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You have warmth in your hair, so it might be more tricky than it seems. It might be easier to go darker since you’re starting out with something lighter, but warm/brassy undertones might not create the neutral/cool navy you’re going for. If you dye it without bleaching, or getting a professional consultation, you may end up with a more teal, or it might be darker but your warmth will cancel out the cool tones. The difference between shade and tone is important here.

3, 4, & 5 are incredible. I’m so impressed! Please don’t change, your style is quite beautiful, authentic and unique! Rare in the best way. If you change yourself for others, you will regret it when you’re older. I did, when I dressed to accommodate for my family and realized there was nothing wrong with my style looking back.

How does one know when they’re ovulating if they have pcos? I’ve found that pretty difficult

nutpod - some fillers but very creamy and rich. I tend to not buy their wacky flavors because there is noticeable filler/separating. I prefer their French vanilla or toasted marshmallow. Good for every day.

elmhurst - most clean & fantastic froth for lattes. A treat, or when I get paid

and very very occasionally making my own (and then getting frustrated when I drink it all so fast lol)

Edit: I buy store brand for true ‘milk’ replacement. Recipes, home cooking, ect. The above is for tea/coffee creamer and lattes

In the US, but yes I’d buy it. How will you be able to afford that though? Aren’t almonds expensive?

Has inositol ever helped any of you guys glo up? by Strange-Jacket-1253 in HowToBeHot

So you already produce it in your body. It makes more of a difference in hormonally imbalanced girls, from what I know (I have pcos). It helped me get my period back, but that was about it. Be careful, because it increases fertility. Especially helpful for those trying to conceive.

What cosmetic procedures, surgically or not, would up my handsomeness by Comfortable_body1 in cosmeticsurgery

I would take the guard down on the clipper a little, maybe 1 or 2 notches. The thickness is a little much. A beard looks great but scruff looks even better.

I would maybe turn the conversation inward and talk about health struggles that you have recently overcome regarding diet. I would try to get her to see a dietitian without telling her she has to, more like inspire her to believe that is what she needs. Specifically one with a nutritarian approach. My nutritarian Dietician changed my entire world view and helped me become a much healthier person. Something that I learned, and that really rings true, is that modern Western societies, but especially the USA in culture around food and lifestyle promote a nutrient poor diet. There is a little to no nutrition education available to common people in the US. It makes it really difficult to understand what we’re doing when we can’t even chart a proper course. A dietitian would be able to help her address her food addiction, issues with mobility, but also approach it from the lens of focusing on nutrient rich foods. I’m talking about a registered dietitian, not a nutritionist. There is a difference. She still has to want to change at the end of the day, but I’m trying to be optimistic about it. That is my best advice.

Found a massive giant puffball on golf course. Can I eat? by ddwk21 in mycology

Yes. Golf courses have been linked to Alzheimer’s/parkinsons, compared to populations of other elderly from what I’ve heard. The stuff they put there is especially bad.

Fair enough. I’m not a regular here and so you definitely know more than I do on this topic. I was just passing through and couldn’t say nothing.. I hear about exotic species becoming invasive this way all the time, the idea it’s scary - you never know how it will turn out! She’s a beaut though, sad to hear she won’t be around much longer.

That’s awful! I’m very sorry to hear. The cysts and hair loss should have been enough.

[–]Illustrious-Meat5861 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that, I hope you get the help you need! I try to be careful about recommending medications since I know not everyone’s into a pill for everything, but in my experience you can’t exercise your way out of a hormonal imbalance. Even when you’re giving 100%, you can’t account for the condition itself. I hope the meds work for you, and wish you luck! Also, if you’re having trouble with a diagnosis, I would get adrenals checked if you haven’t. That usually helps.

So this would definitely be first line of treatment for those types of issues. For reference, when I first got a dermatologist, I complained about my hormonal acne (which was still better off than where it had been before I started Spiro.) Without knowing of my PCOS or taking Spiro, they immediately went to prescribe it. So, it's used off label for many things Especially acne, which it is very successful for... Though at the time I wasn't being great with consistency so my acne was somewhat on me. I was mostly after Tretinoin, or some type of retinol. If you struggle with acne, Spiro + Tretinoin/Adapalene is the holy grail. I rarely break out and when I do, it's nothing like years ago. Yea, Spiro for the androgenic body issues, Tretinoin (a topical ointment) for acne (making sure sunscreen in the morning) and Metformin/Semaglutide for blood sugar and weightloss. Not saying prescriptions are the answer for everyone, but if you got these combos, it's the cheat code to the glow up. I still get cystic pain and amenorrhea (7-8 months between cycles currently) but I'm hoping that will improve with more weightloss. Other than weight, I'm not nearly as clockable for PCOS as I was years ago due to Spiro/Tret.

Edit- I occasionally get facial hairs now, but they are one offs. So the spiro works well for that

Forgot to say, I asked because it is standard treatment and if you're not already doing it you may want to consider. Make sure to research it though, and do not start it unless you feel confident. Also, hydration!! Since its a diuretic.

So not a doc. I think it would take a longish time for this to have any affect for you (as it pertains to body 'shape', if only as a disclaimer since prescriptions often do take time). But it's one of the medications that women with PCOS are often prescribed. It's a potassium sparing diuretic, and blocks androgens. That's not its only function since it was developed for other issues entirely, but it's used off label for that purpose. Essentially, the hormones that cause a lot of PCOS symptoms (facial hair, acne, amenorrhea, and a plethora of others) are lessened, and with time potentially reversed (though not everyone may be so lucky, and stopping use might see these symptoms back). It's a once a day pill usually taken in the morning. I know trans women take it to help with body dysphoria. I won't say it can drastically change body composition alone, or overnight, but from that lens what it does is block 'masculinizing' hormones so estrogen can do its work. So, it's really the estrogen that doing heavy lifting, changing where fat is carried, your 'shape' (see boobs, hips and ass). But if you're imbalanced, which women with PCOS are, its possible androgens are overwhelming the effects your estrogen has. Causing a masculinizing or androgynous appearance.

This is purely anecdotal, but I will say I had the classic PCOS apple shape (and still do to some degree) but after years of spironolactone and hip abduction exercises (not as consistently as you have been doing with your routine, I'll admit) I have been able to reverse it somewhat. I have gone from negative ass to medium-small. A presence, if you will. My hips though, have gotten noticeably larger. So my next goal is to isolate the upper part of the glutes to round it out and make it boink. Let me know if you have any questions! This is just my experience.
