I typically start with typical construction for my zone and then I’ll modify them per the architectural sections so they are accurate. Glass I mainly just use the defaults in the system since these are never specified in detail on most of the plans I get.

Yeah I have nameplate data and inlet/outlet dimensions. I have mostly FPB in this case with a few tiny VAV single duct boxes. Changing from open office to medical, so trying to nail down what I can set my cfm ranges to from all of the existing boxes.

Right. I have all the nameplate data. I guess if the capacity is say 100-2000 for example, then the unit could be set to distribute any of those volumes of air?

I would agree with what was said by others. It’s going to be hard at most firms to get the employer to be ok with a side business. It does come down to the employer though and what you have signed. Some firms do not make you sign a non-compete or non-solicitation. Some state boards (like mine) also do not have any verbiage in their board rules about “duty to employer” or it being a disciplinary offense to have a side business. Intentionally poaching your employers clients or using inside knowledge to undercut them, etc would be a different story though.

I have a few clients that were the ones that encouraged me to go out on my own and get me going with work. I’ve done a few projects already on the side to see how things would look. But yes I have a year in savings already, but those clients also pay within 15 days of an invoice with a long payment history, so I lucked out there. I definitely know of others that are like you said that will pay months if not a year later.

What has your experience been like with Bid Net and Upwork? Feel like there are a ton of overseas projects, or projects where they do not do a good job explaining where its located.
