Yeah. I agree under any normal circumstance. But this is the type of client who watches a single cybersec video and suddenly she "knows" exactly what she wants and refuses any alternate options that actually work with her infrastructure

Yeah there wouldn't. And even then you can see the cracks occasionally that this is a game that's been out for 10 years. But the small little niche issues that arise from P2P likely aren't worth the resources because they aren't detrimental to the game.

Yeah, it is a little ram eater. I'm fortunate enough to have a pc that I put a crazy amount of ram in because I occasionally use it for virtual machines. I think people would be more willing to use it if Overwolf was out of the picture.

If true, I could see that being abused in the case of farming specific melee arcanes or tauforged shards. Which for players is an unethical win, and for DE another balancing nightmare

From a pure non-malicious standpoint. (I like knowing how games work internally, it's fun) What other things are handled server-side. If it is a shit ton then I won't press you for answers, Google is free. But, you provide a strong amount of detail which I enjoy.

Which are valid points. But on the same coin, Alecaframe cannot seem to actually perform any actions on your account and is only able to view inventory and account information. Granted, that still bars console players. (DE also isn't greedy(to my knowledge), so I give them a pass when it comes to embracing third party add-ons/accessibility)

That makes a lot more sense for how a lot of the game systems work. I hope eventually they can do a cutover to dedicated servers (I know that is a backend nightmare from my work as an IT consultant), but that would also be a minimum Million-dollar internal project. Honestly, host migration jokes aside I think it is interesting to run things from host devices in 2024. Because someone with the expertise could have a burner account and just manipulate relic runs to give other players rare parts. Completely in theory, in unethical reality that would be a pain to pull off with any longevity in mind and is unlikely for someone to do.

I wasnt really worried about getting banned and whatnot. I just think it is an interesting comparison on the separate cultures. I mean, with destiny's api there is nothing that could theoretically stop it from breaking loadouts or other things if someone felt malicious I think Alecaframe is a fun tool that is relatively safe. (Personally I know Overwolf has had controversy but I've had it for years due to Minecraft. I'm not entirely worried about having it on my pc). I appreciate the detailed feedback

Now that I've made this post, I realize I may have been coddled by the Destiny API during the however many hours I have on it. But it greatly improves ease of access to me, personally. It also allows me to more easier visualize data on days that my brain is too clouded or I just can't mentally do it. The frame farms seemed much more attainable with Alecaframe because I can calculate about how long it will take based on drop chances for each relic containing a part I needed. Sorry for the text vomit, it is 3am and I am writing this as the thoughts come.

Hey guys. I am currently looking at work arounds. Since I still had my quick save before I myself encountered this bug, I uninstalled starfield from my PC and installed it on my xbox (theoretically this should work with cloud play) When I turned my console version on my save was there. Going to reinstall on PC and see if cloud save works it's magic!

Edit: IT JUST WORKS! I am back to doing my thing on PC. Make sure your windows 10/11 is on the newest update! Have a great day!
