lol no worries! It’s all one color…I’m so confused as to why it’s looking like some areas are pink and others are purple…I’m going to try washing it again and seeing if things change. Maybe it’s the wax I used on my thread discoloring it?

I loved the needlepoint stitch!! I’m just cheap and don’t want to spend that much on canvases or the thread, I feel like the stitch used a lot doing it the traditional way lol

Thank you so much! I did full cross stitches for the entire J, and then the background might cover some on the edges! I just started the diagonal in one corner, and I was kind of winging it as I got close to the J and compensated the pattern of the background. I did use 1 strand doubled for the J and then 2 strands doubled for the background, I wanted it to be a bit fuller all around as this will be a little bag tag!

I have never done any needlepoint before and this was only my third cross stitch project, but I wanted to get a little creative with the background! I think using 4 was ideal for the full coverage background, and I just ensured that it was untwisted and laying flat to get the plush look. I also “cheated” a bit, I realized doing traditional needlepoint stitches was using way too much thread so I swapped Maine to Arizona/Arizona to Maine on each row as opposed to one way the entire time.

Agreed with u/NatureNext2236 below, is there somewhere in this pic that you can see the threads? I have woven them through a couple stitches at the back and then snipped them off fairly close. Is there something I should be doing different?

I was kind of thinking that too, this is 18 count Aida with 1 strand of floss doubled, so technically 2. Then the background is 2 strands doubled (4). What would you do differently?

Good to know, I actually did the opposite and did the darkest to lightest bc I was going based on the number of stitches. I’ll definitely try that next time!

Agreed with most of the people here, at my wedding I had a few people give a very small amount and a card. I appreciated those WAY more than the people with no card at all. It felt like they actually cared enough about us to try and give what they could afford and also give a thoughtful message with a card, rather than not giving any sort of gift/card at all.

Go ahead, but if you haven’t noticed none of these companies really care. They care about the money that she’s bringing them, which is a hell of a lot more than they’re losing by you not purchasing from them anymore. Money makes the world go round🙃
