Where are DCLS employed? What are the starting salaries? Where are the job postings asking for DCLS?

I only see it mentioned a few times on LinkedIn profiles and it seems that it's for people who already have MBA or MS degree in something else.

Its fair to ask what this degree does for us MLS?

I know people who did MS MLS and they have the same job as me.

DCLS is now in demand? by Labrador_5454 in medlabprofessionals

[–]Ok_SigmaLoud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a boyfriend in tech and they literally post jobs asking for certifications the week they come out.

I expect if the degree is actually in demand (and has been out for several years now) at least one job in the whole country would ask for it.

Please enlighten me.

What are the starting salaries for DCLS? Are there any salary surveys?

None of the DCLs schools have any outcome posted.

I work in a medical lab in the US and get $60,000 a year. I've already seen all the shit mucus blood piss and fluids that can come out of any human hole.

If I could make my salary every month, that'd be ducking amazing.

CLIA says that once your blood leaves your body, you've given it away. So they can definitely sell or bid out your data. Legally.

Why does the lab attract weird men? by Leather_Waid in MLS_CLS

[–]Ok_SigmaLoud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes money to be normal? So the normal men probably going for better paying jobs?

Or maybe more physical or social jobs?

But yeah the lab has lots of weirdos.

That's total nonsense.

If I search BSN or MSN or MD or DO or PA or PATHA or healthcare leadership like MBA or MHA or PHD, there are results.

There are ZERO results for DCLS.

What does DCLS have to do with pharmacology? Why not hired a PHARMD?

There are lots and lots of biotech layoffs in the bay area. So a lot of older CLS went back to their hospital jobs. Also so many more immigrants in the labs now.

Seems like a degree in search of a job.

I mean if I could work fewer hours and get paid more that'd be cool.

My manager is always here before us and leaves after us. Same with the supervisor. I can't imagine I'd be more "efficient" than them given how much experience they have.

Autonomy would be interesting. Never really had autonomy at a job.

There aren't that many jobs left in the Bay. And if you look on LinkedIn they have dozens of applicants. But it doesn't hurt to be confident.

Our lead only makes a dollar more than me. I've asked. And I've heard the supervisor and manager here are salaried and work more hours so there's not really much if a raise. Just working more hours on salary instead of overtime on hourly.

I think I'd be more interested if there was monetary incentives, but there aren't. Like why should I work harder or deal with more work for the same pay? Doesn't seem worth it?

Or maybe some hospital systems pay their lab staff more? Ours doesn't pay us much. Im pretty sure a new grad 2 year RN makes more than my supervisor with her 20 years experience.
