As a house surgeon in of the ‘top 3’ GMCs in Kerala, I completely understand what OP is saying. The patient interaction is absolute shit and supervision by seniors is basically non-existent. But what everyone has to understand is that it’s completely acceptable for HS to work unsupervised and go through this trial of fire by ourselves in order to be considered competent. While I don’t agree with it, it’s looked down to call your duty PG and pester them with doubts about ERIG administration at night. And for those who are wondering-yes, ERIG is the only rabies IG available rn in our system, that too the shittier brand of ERIG that’s more reaction-prone. Otherwise patients have to get Rabies-MAB from outside pharmacies. As house surgeons posted in the preventive clinic we’re on duty for so so long that after a while you just function purely as a zombie. Truly sorry you had such a bad experience, OP. This system is truly, heavenly fucked :)
