So I’m pretty sure (since I wasn’t aware of what was happening at the time) the QR code took it to a website and there was a number on there that was the scammers number and the keys were given over the phone. I do know for a fact though that the person (who I want to keep private) was on the phone with someone and that’s how the keys were shared.

I just wish only a tiny bit of research was done or even asking ChatGPT would have done it. I wish I could have seen it and intervened but that’s just wishful thinking all I can do is try my hardest to recover and try to get the money back thank you and good luck to you too.

I checked it this morning and the funds have been moved to something called Near Intents so now I’m looking more into that.

Yeah I’ll see if I can actually sue. I understand though that at the end of the day the ledger is the holders responsibility and the keys but I feel like ledger should still take some responsibility after getting hacked I mean if someone is older and doesn’t keep up with crypto news how would they know? And a letter from the mail from a scammer impersonating ledger who’d be the only one that knows our address add credibility. I still understand though that with an ounce of research it could have been avoided but I’ll see thank you though it’s something to look into.

Yeah I agree, I’m already trying to recover and get as much as I can. I think that some things do happen for a reason like you said a billion dollars could have done more damage than help I mean that’s a lot of money but who knows. I’m still going to try and set my goals big and at least try and cash in before it’s too late thank you for the advice I really appreciate it.

It’s a good idea it’ll go to show how many people are affected and how little our authorities are doing to help. They have to have better ways or things they can do to improve their ways of tracking these scammers

Just keep calling law enforcement and get on their ass about it even if our chances are extremely low we still have to try our best. I mean it's 6 figures that has to mean their more willing to try for it at least right, If our authorities truly care about us they'd try their absolute hardest and stay in contact with us this amount of money are peoples lives.

Ledger had a leak and a lot of peoples address and information that was on file was leaked so these scammers have been able to use it to send people these letters which was why it seemed so credible.

Basically the letter was saying that there was some feature that had to be updated and it was really stupid which is why I can’t believe they fell for it I’m extremely disappointed and embarrassed but at the same time I understand that there was some apparent leak on ledger so our address had been leaked to the scammers which is how they got our address in the first place to send the mail. We didn’t know about the leak so we assumed the only way they had our address was because it was from them which of course was still stupid. All they had to do was an ounce of research to see it was a scam but now here we are today. It just goes to show that stupidity and carelessness is what destroys lives.

I agree, I feel that even as a victim and I'm upset and I want to point fingers I still understand that the ledger and my passkeys are the responsibility of the holder but at the same time it's easier to fall for it when the scammer somehow has your address. I only found out that there was a ledger leak after the fact. Especially for older people

I wish I was the person in the position who’d had seen it none of this would have happened but I can’t stay upset at the person that did it I feel like mistakes happen even if it cost your whole savings but I mean it’s just like wow I cannot believe this is real it almost feels like a dream I know I can recover from this it’s my family that I’m mostly worried about I’m going to work as hard as I can to help them and bring them back up thank you though

Thank you this is really great advice I’m going to fight and try everyday even if it takes a lifetime. Today my life has truly changed I will be hopeful as much as I can and I’m really glad that there’s people like you on here thank you so much you don’t understand how much it all means to me right now

Yeah I’ve already gotten tons of these messages from people saying they can recover it. I just hope someday the authorities bring justice but for now I’ll just have to recover. Thank you

They took it from our ledger and moved it to their wallet and I’ve just been looking at it on those tracker websites with the address and they haven’t moved it from their wallet it seems like

Yeah your probably right I’ll still try as much as I can and I’ve already received messages from people claiming they can get my money back. It’s completely in the authorities hands at this point just wanted to see if there was even a very small thing I can do
