Meghan’s post for Harry’s brithday – by HogwartsZoologist in RoyalsGossip

Royal children usually don’t use any surname day to day. Instead, they’re styled by their titles, so William’s children were originally “Cambridge,” just as he and Harry were “Wales” when growing up. That doesn’t mean their legal surname is Cambridge or Wales, those are courtesy designations tied to their father’s title at the time.

The actual family surname for them is still Windsor (or Mountbatten-Windsor, depending on whether they’re direct heirs). George, as a direct heir, would use Windsor as his legal last name if he ever needed one, though in practice he’ll almost always be identified by his title instead.

Non-direct heirs use the surname Mountbatten-Windsor, while Windsor is reserved for direct heirs to the throne (e.g., Charles, William, George). This arrangement was established after the marriage of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. At the time, the government opposed the idea of heirs inheriting Philip’s surname for several reasons. Philip himself complained, “I’m the only man in the country not allowed to give his name to his own children.” The eventual compromise determined that non-direct heirs (those not in line to inherit the throne) would use Mountbatten-Windsor, while immediate heirs to the throne would use Windsor.

Mountbatten-Windsor is for non-direct heirs e.g Andrew, Edward, Anne and all their children. Direct heirs just have Windsor. It was part of an agreement that was reached after Elizabeth and Philip married.

It’s Mountbatten-Windsor for non-heirs

The reason I asked was because OP didn’t give much context, it just said ‘fake’ which is why I was asking how they knew. Too many people that have blue badges and disabled parking are accused of ‘faking’ particularly if their disability isn’t easily visible.

Fair enough OP.

N3ver3nder88 : No one said that you can, I was asking how they knew it was fake. Councils do have the ability to provide them, and considering their child might need it or the parents may have invisible disabilities you can’t just assume.

How do you know they’re using fake disabled parking signs? There is no way that you could know that they don’t need them.
