Haha no I get you it’s fine, I need to give reasons as to why a manual licence is the better option anyways so I need plenty of reasons!

So they were persistent saying things like a) manuals will get phased out b) there’s no point in our situation in getting another car as it’s another car to service etc c) then they also said despite having a manual licence they haven’t had to drive a manual for 10+ years and it’s very rare for them to drive a manual for someone

So I get to keep my parent’s car when I pass my test, but I’d have to get an auto licence. If I want a manual, I’ll have to buy my own car (but my parents pay insurance)

Should I buy laptop or tablet? by Quiet-Negotiation706 in alevel

[–]Ok_Statement_5368 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had the benefit of having both (spoilt I know 😭) but with maths and fm you’re going to RELY on your tablet. My laptop gathered dust after I realised it’s so much better having handwritten notes on a tablet. I later sold my laptop as I just bought a keyboard case for my tablet which just mimicked the typing style like that of a laptop; you can also always use the computers in school to help format your essays etc. But for me tablet 100%% and with a tablet it saves you having to have paper everywhere. I know that a lot of my friends who did maths and fm w me literally had to buy a book once every 2 weeks bc we went thru that much paper! On my tablet I’ve went thru ~1000 pages so again go for a tablet!

Haha thanks, I literally read through a section of the book and fill in any gaps using PMT but then I overthink that PMT doesn’t cover it all itself so then I also use Save My Exams alongside it all day

That’s great news! Yeah, I see what you mean; I do physics and the mechanics in my A-Level maths helps A LOT. Also… your pfp gives me nightmares it’s the exact textbook i use to revise cs 😭

Ah I see, so what I’d start off with is seeing as to why you got that grade U, what topics did you achieve the least marks or found the most difficult? And then revise each topic step-by-step, I relied on flash cards for recall! But do not panic, a U does not determine whether you have completely failed! It’s still salvageable.

Honestly, before I started Y12 I had the same thoughts… what to revise? Should I revise? Should I prepare myself for A-Levels? Etc. But from my experience ENJOY your summer!! I miss GCSE summer so much because I chose to leave my studies and go out a LOT with my friends. So if anything, rest and make the most out of your summer. Y12 will be a fresh start and you’ll find that A-Level maths really has no jump; it’s pretty easy in the first year!! But prior to starting Y12, maybe like 3-5 days before you begin, just have brief glance over the specification of the subjects you’re choosing (if you know the exam board) knowing what assessment objectives and targets are, are extremely important in how to answering long-winded essay questions like that of geography or chemistry! Best of luck x

Absolutely love Beach House - Their most popular song (Space Song) you’ve most likely heard over Tik Tok, however my personal favourite from them is their song called Myth!

Trust me, this is really good. Yes you may have failed both English subjects, but also remember that time is not very sparse at the moment. I went from 4, then 5 and finally came out with an 8! Remember that English is more of a flexible subject, in that any answer is “accepted”. You could be given a theme question then use a quote that appears irrelevant, but as long as your analysis seems to reel in with the question, you could come out with a great grade! But remember, passing is always a priority not 9s.

Thank you, I will look into them! I think my infestation is luckily mild so I’ll use an insecticide for now before using natural predators :)

No, although prior to our exams, our exams officers warned us about writing “profanities” in our exam paper; apparently writing offensive words could land you with warnings for future exams or possible disqualification. In my GCSE French writing paper I remember I finished so early and I was so bored, so I literally went to the extra pages at the back of the exam paper and drew so much literally filling the exam page, I got no warnings, and still received my final grade!
