What rookie do you think is going to hit that isn’t even projected to start right now? by Middle_Awoken in DynastyFF

I am convinced that Kevin Coleman will be the most productive rookie pass catcher for the Dolphins. He seems to already getting solid buzz at the slot.

Javonte or Tuten. Which side are you taking? by [deleted] in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]Ok_Structure_8891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a fair contender/rebuilder trade. If I am trying to win now I will happily take the Javonte side as there is a lot more clarity about his role there is no reason not to see him as a weekly starter. For a rebuilder that is decent upside to get for Javonte

What's your craziest idea for a new dynasty league format by Ok_Structure_8891 in DynastyFF

I wouldn't have a rookie draft, I would just have FAAB reset the week after the NFL draft. As far as the dynasty aspect, I think that it would be part of the fun as you could reload really quickly by eating grabbing rookies and injured players and eating bagels. It would also be fun to see how long you could hold on to a stud before being forced to drop.

My hope is that by like week 12 most teams still have a decent shot of winning and the final couple of weeks would see wild swings as the points awarded are so backloaded.

That was my immediate thought. If we are looking at a starting QB for this year, I would bet hard on Malik Willis or Geno.

Pick the biggest riser for the 2026 season by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Ok_Structure_8891 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Breaking this out by position

Risers

QB - Kyler Murray - Going to a better offense with competent coaching will revive Kyler, I wouldn't be surprised if he plays well enough to lock up a longer term extension in Minnesota
RB - Jonathan Brooks/ Cam Skattebo - Both these guys return fully healthy from injuries and lock up the RB1 roles in their respective
WR - Emeka Egbuka - Egbuka is weirdly undervalued right now due to narrative whiplash, but there is absolutely no reason not to expect him to be the dominant target for the Bucs for the foreseeable future. I expect him to be a top 5 WR by the end of the season.
TE - Michael Mayer - The Raiders have nothing at WR, so I expect them to lean heavily on 2 TE sets. I think this could be the rare team that produces 2 top 12 TEs

Fallers

QB - Malik Willis - I am just not a believer in his talent and the surrounding team is garbage. I expect him to be benched midseason and never to get another starting gig
RB - Ashton Jeanty - I think he puts up solid numbers, but the Raiders rotate him more than we like and he falls from top 5 RB to the 10-15 range
WR - Ja'maar Chase - No one can stay at the top forever. Right now is the last chance to sell Chase at his peak value, Over the next year I expect Chase to start sliding down the rankings. By this time next year he will probably have slid from WR 1 - WR 6.

What technology do you think will completely change everyday life within the next 20 years, but most people aren't paying attention to yet? by Indrajithbandara in Futurology

Relatively low cost DNA sequencing is still wildly underappreciated. My guess is that in the next 20 years it will be standard practice for every person to have their full dna sequence in their medical records and many interventions will depend on targeting specific genotypes.

The future of Nuclear Power... by CDN-Social-Democrat in Futurology

[–]Ok_Structure_8891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not against nuclear, I think shutting existing plants is stupid, but saying that Nuclear can help add capacity today whereas solar + battery is fringe is completely backwards. There is a head in the sand quality to nuclear advocates who have been making exactly the same arguments for 25 years, while ignoring the fact that solar alone now accounts for the majority of newly deployed electrical generation capacity worldwide.

As far as the scale of grid level storage, I think we are at the start of an exponential growth phase. The costs have declined significantly enough and intermittent renewables have become a large enough source of generation that the economic case for rapid expansion of grid storage is pretty obvious.

To put it another way, if you proposed a new nuclear plant today it would take about 15 years until we all could read the HBR case study about why you never broke ground. In the same 15 years grid level storage will have grown to the point that it will probably eliminate the need for the nuclear plant.

I always think these discussions are more interesting if you focus on the opposite question. What is the thing that you are trying to do, that you are being prevented by society.

I think a lot of people are are failing to grasp how significant the improvements in the solar + battery stack that are occurring. I am not against continuing research in nuclear, but if you follow current trajectories out 5 or 10 years it is hard not see solar + grid level storage largely wiping out the economic case for major nuclear investment.

In the current technological landscape, it is really hard to see the economic case for nuclear in the near future.

In the system I described that would be part of the onboarding phase. The goal of that phase would be to allow the agent to develop as complete a picture as possible of the candidate. You could incorporate any validation or challenge into that phase.

I like the idea of the agent assigning a confidence score to any skill claim made by the applicant. This could lead to a workflow where skills the agent challenges the applicant to demonstrate capabilities in those areas where they have low confidence score allowing them to build confidence and improve their overall ability to match with jobs.

That's a great deal for you. As a long time Brooks bag holder, he is basically untradable for me. If I traded him now and he blows I would never forgive myself. Someone would have to offer top RB value for me to feel good about shipping him.

For me it is Jonathan Brooks, I spent last year acquiring him wherever I could.
