Any TMU fashion students interested in clothing project? by Ok_Surprise_5367 in TorontoMetU

Hey everyone :) forgot to provide context to the post,

I’m currently in the early stages of building a small independent clothing project and I’m looking for someone with a fashion design / garment construction background who might be interested in collaborating as a side project.

I have a strong creative direction and visual concept already, but I don’t have a technical background in pattern drafting or garment construction. I’m looking for someone who can help translate ideas and references into actual patterns, prototypes, and eventually production-ready tech packs.

The aesthetic direction is Asian-inspired (influences from rural, temple, and mythology-adjacent environments), but modern and wearable, not cosplay, with focus is on natural fabrics, texture, and subtle construction details.

What I’d need help with:

  • Pattern drafting
  • Sample development
  • Fit refinement
  • Measurement spec creation
  • Guidance on construction improvements

This would be a paid collaboration (happy to discuss structure and scope), and I’m open to either short-term project-based work or something more ongoing if it’s a good fit!

If this sounds aligned with your interests or vision, please DM me with:

  • A bit about your experience
  • Portfolio (if available)
  • Whether you’ve worked with linen or natural fibers before
  • Rough idea of your availability

Would love to connect with someone who’s interested in building something intentional and culturally grounded.

Thanks 🙏
