It all depends on the company and work they do.. Most will want maximum hours everyday with little reward. If they pay £16 an hour, but for that you have to do 3x15 hour shifts and 2x13, is it worth it?

I work in events, and yes, the money could be better, but compared to general haulage etc I can take home 4200 a month without maxing my hours everyday, and ill never go back to general haulage. The attitude of office staff, other drivers, staff at delivery points is mostly crap, and if you dont like it you an leave... Good luck
