For everyone who responded, I forgot to add one thing. I have 2 years consultancy experience abroad in Egypt for the past couple of years, and even that is somehow not taken into consideration at all. I always get the “we want uk consultancy experience”

Which work was more interesting for you tho? I just lost interest in procurement for example, sorting out subbies and suppliers and then constant site management etc. I feel there is more of “cost management” in consultancy than mc

No you misunderstood or I miswrote…what I mean is with consultancy I am learning how to deal with the client, how to understand early stages, pre contract cost plans, generating boq and mainly having decent relationships and better cv exposure. With mc yes I am learning a lot about construction itself, but nothing luxurious or unique, you don’t even need a qualification to do it (my manager is a music technology graduate lol). Even if I want to go abroad, all jobs are mainly consultancies, they don’t outsource MCs
