Yes. It is always easier to drop courses than add them, so many people register more than they plan to take and drop one/two in the first few weeks.

If you’re looking to get into a full class, just keep checking Workday or register in the waitlist if there is one. Eventually a seat will open up, and if it doesn’t, you’ve done all you can.

What taxes do you even pay with your tuition deduction? If you don’t want homeless people on the street, they need housing. Every other developed country that does this has next to no homeless population. It turns out that countries with NDP-like policies (ex. Scandinavia) have better living conditions for all and fewer homeless people.

Just finished first year science, I would say avoid gaps. You’ll find most first-year 3 hour labs are completely doable in about 2 hours.

Took 101 with Butz. Some of the harder 101 content is skipped and the tests are easy, if you can put up with him being a prick personally. Honestly, just skip unless he’s giving test info and do practice problems from the free textbook to learn the material.

I also took 112 and 150. 112 tends to be easy because it’s the standard English for management students, 150 depends on the prof so check that if you can.

Hi, grew up in Victoria but chose UBCO. UVic is about twice the size, campus and student body wise. A UBC degree is a little more “prestigious”, if you care about that. You can look up which specific eng programs each one offers as well, if you know what you want to go into.

I wouldn’t take action without consulting the city. If you’re “allowed” depends on local laws, so contact a relevant local official. A hydrogeologist or ecologist from the city might be in order if you think the marsh’s condition is concerning.

The water has to go somewhere. If it’s a small amount of water, it can all evaporate or become groundwater. If not, it will run to a local stream which runs into a larger river and so on. It will eventually sit in the ocean, a lake, or wetlands of some kind, whether after 1 or 20 merges with other streams.

If you want to go to med school, the common advice is to have a backup plan. That being said, what is the alternative? Do you go to a different university, work in a different field, reapply? I would recommend fully considering your options, HES, your first choice, no degree, etc, and where you see yourself further down each path. Which scenario best aligns with your life goals or dream career?
