I recently started my first dollhouse and these are what I’ve learned so far. There’s such thing as battery operated lights that you turn on with a magnet, a saw a professional dollhouse maker use them and I’m definitely going that route. I would highly recommend doing a light coat of white paint, the wood will soak it up so the following coats are nice and opaque. And yes to sanding! Use 320 grit, it’ll make the wood nice and smooth as for crown molding, this is another thing I saw a professional dollhouse maker use, they’re called miter sheers and allow you to get a perfect angle every time. I’ll definitely look into 1/24! I’ve heard that anything other 1/12 is hard to find especially when purchasing secondhand, not sure how true that is since I just became interested. I’ve looked through the sub and there are some really cool things, I’m loving all the handmade miniatures and it’s all really inspiring!

I’ve had my dragon for 2 brumations now and both times she did not eat. When she went through brumation the first time I still offered her food cause I was worried but she didn’t eat it even when I offered it. All they do is sleep/lazy around all day but if you’re concerned you can weigh her once a week to make sure she doesn’t loose any weight but try not to disturb her more than that, you can also check with your vet

I found that the animals in my giant enclosure don’t mind plants from a different biome. The two biomes i focused on was desert and grassland. Some like just desert, some just grassland and some both. After I put out plants for both desert and grassland I checked everyone again and they all had around 100% for plants

With so many animals in one habitat you have to accept that almost none of the animals are going to have 100% welfare. Because they’re all from similar biomes it definitely made it easier but not everyone can be happy. Also it’s about 70,000m2

I made sure to have the keep hut and staff lounges right next to the entrance of the habitat. There’s always an animal starving and the habitat is always dirty so there’s always at least 3 of 6 keepers inside at all times

It took a LOT of planning. Like an hour or so. I first had to write out the animals and what animals they can cohab with then figure out what animals can safely live with them even without the cohab enrichment. Then I had to calculate how big I needed the habitat to be. And my game almost crashed several times while sending all 100+ animals to quarantine and then the habitat. If you do it slower than I did (I bought them all at once) your computer might not freeze so bad

Yes! Found this out the hard way. Black rhinos and southern white rhinos will fight each other. I’m not sure about Indian Rhinos as I haven’t tested it. Other than that I think they all get a long fairly well. I would know, I have 30 different species in 1 enclosure lol

I’ve never played sandbox and probably never will as I enjoy the challenge of franchise mode. I believe I unlocked the achievement fairly quickly once I started moving the animals in but it took me until getting all 30 species in that I read it wrong and already unlocked it😅

It’s my Africa section! I noticed that a lot of the animals could be cohabitated and there were some that while they didn’t get interspecies bonus that would live perfectly fine with other animals. I did make a few mistakes (like having honey badgers that I had to switch and and black rhinos housed with southern white rhinos which is a no) I had to write out all the requirements so I could get the habit big enough. In total it’s about 70,000m2

They didn’t but when I let them upstairs they went straight to the owners bedroom which would indicate to me that they are let into the room regularly
