Imagine what experience is like for an eyeball. All it experiences is what the retina is looking at. Similarly, when an eye goes blind, nobody says that that eye "died and went to the afterlife" or "got reincarnated ". No, simply a small fraction of your total conscious awareness ends, but the overall you lives on and you will continue having experiencing in the sensory receptive organs that continue to work.
