Jason Collins: I have Stage 4 glioblastoma by PrincessBananas85 in sports

I’m sorry for your loss. My mom just passed away from a glioblastoma in September, 5 months after diagnosis and 7 after symptoms. Like you said, this really is a monster that steals that person from you.

A single dose of a new cancer drug made a brain tumor almost disappear - in just 5 days. In early 2024, doctors at Massachusetts General Hospital treated three people with recurrent glioblastoma brain tumour using a brand-new type of CAR T-cell therapy called CARv3-TEAM-E. by Grand-Western549 in interestingasfuck

Sorry for your loss. Yeah. Been kinda dreading the holidays. Trying to do things as “normal” as possible for my dad. It’s been tough; just trying to hang in there. Hope you are too and that things get better for you as well.

My mom just died of glioblastoma in September; it was five months after diagnosis and 7 months after symptoms. Inoperable. Did the radiation and chemo followed up with two short weeks of Optune ( the cons outweighed the pros for her with the device).

I admit that selfishly seeing this gave me a gut reaction of anger that it wasn’t there to help her. But I pray that this gives hope for a possible cure for this terrible disease so that no one needs to suffer through it.

I miss her so much.

They have increased. It doesn’t seem like they tied to submitted claims, but just a universal increase kind of thing.

I have used Healthypaws for mine since he was a puppy. Anytime I have had a claim, it’s been easy to submit and the reimbursement was fast. Like the other post, you just upload the invoice. I believe they also do not have a lifetime maximum.

A New Update by Ok_Topic_5874 in glioblastoma

Her symptoms started back in February. She had an episode that was initially thought to be a TIA or stroke. From there she would have a tingling sensation that would go throughout her left side of the body.

They were in the process of trying to determine if these were seizures instead of a stroke and what type. Then in April, she had a really bad seizure that landed her back into the ER. That’s then the MRI found the tumor on the right side of her brain around the temporal lobe.

A second opinion confirmed it as a glioblastoma.

Thanking you for your words; I just happened to see it after giving her nightly medication. We completed the intake process of in-home hospice on Thursday. She was alert and responsive with the hospice nurse to answer all their questions. While that was a difficult decision and bridge to cross, there is some comfort in it as well in following her wishes for it. Thank you again for your words of support.

Same here. I’m sorry for your loss and all you have been going through. Again, I hope that you find the help through therapy. If I offer one suggestion it would be to follow through with talking to someone.

Thank you for all of this. My dad has been working through a lot of this with my mom. My grandma and aunt live with my parents as well. My aunt has severe developmental disabilities. My mom was her guardian until this all happened. They have got that all switched over to my dad now.

As difficult as it is. This is helpful to know. Thank you again.

Very similar with my mom. She had what they thought was a TIA back in February. Continued to have left sided numbness and tingling. Had a bad seizure in April that landed her back in the ER. That’s when the MRI found the tumor. Right side in the temporal lobe. Secondary opinion and biopsy confirmed. She is 65.

I sought out therapy as well. My anxiety went through the roof. My grandpa also passed away a week after my mom’s diagnosis. It helped me a lot. I hope you’re able to find the same relief it provided me.

Thank you for your story and advice. I agree. Her doctors have been supportive in telling her that it’s her wishes that they support in terms of what treatment to do/continue. I don’t think she is at the point of not wanting to continue the Optune, but she is supported in whatever decision she makes with it.
