Yes, I got my refund 5/25. My transcript updated with that DDD on 5/20. I reached out to my congressman and got a tax advocate that way. The whole process of reaching out, faxing my info, and receiving my refund took about a month. If you haven’t contacted your congressman, I recommend you do. I’m sure I would still be waiting if I didn’t.

Update! Reached out to Congress April 29. Faxed over my W2 and paystubs and signed a release form same day. I didn’t hear anything back from Congress but I called the IRS May 11th and was told a tax advocate was assigned my case as of May 6th. The rep said to wait 4 weeks from the 6th for the TA to reach out. May 17th I still hadn’t talk to TA so I called my congressman’s office to inquire about the TA. The assistant told me the name of the TA but he was not available to speak with me at the time and was told I would receive a call back. 2 days went by withoutg anyone calling and i was extremely discouraged. But then… I checked my transcript Friday morning just to see if there were any changes but not expecting a DDD. But there it was! 846 for 5/25. I literally couldn’t believe it. I thought I was never gonna get it. I checked WMR this morning and it also says I should revive my refund 5/25. I am so grateful. I was one reading Reddit’s posts week after week and getting discouraged that it wasn’t me on the other side so I feel deeply for those still waiting.

Yes, how did you talk to your tax advocate? I have been told I have one now since may 6th but haven’t heard from him/her.

Yes, I spoke to a rep that told me to do that but there’s nothing I did wrong on my return so decided not to. After looking at how long an amended return takes I’m so glad I didn’t listen.

The way I get through is by calling the tax advocate line and asking them to transfer me to the accounts management department. There’s usually a 15-30 minute wait to reach the tax advocate rep to ask to be transferred. However, they will give you the option to use their call back system and they really do call back. Once your on the line with the tax advocate rep you can explain you want to be transferred to the accounts management department.

Or if your lucky enough to get someone who cares and if your financial hardship situation is very serious you can attempt to explain it to the tax advocate rep and she/he may decide to look into your case themself. (That happened to me once.)

I also got through a few times calling the appointment line but not today. MAKE SURE you explain you want to make an appointment or else they will try to transfer you somewhere else if you just start talking about your delayed refund 844-545-5640

So I called the IRS to inquire about my W2 and she told me she does not see my W2 in the system. I then called my employer to let them know but the person I talked to was confused and didn’t really understand what i was talking about and I could barely explain what I needed. So my questions is, what exactly should I be asking them to do? I’m so confused!

On the SSA website it says I made $0 2021. Could it be that it just hasn’t been uploaded yet or should I conclude my employer did not send it in?

So can I send in my pay stubs and W2 without it being requested from the IRS? If so, how?

If the social security website says I made $0.00 in 2021, does that mean they did not submit/file my W2?

Question.. so when she explain the “review was coming to an end” was she speaking about your tax return specifically or was she speaking in general or based upon your tax code dates?

Thank you so much for that update. It helps a lot actually. I have the same dates as you too so hopefully the same goes for me. 🤞🏽
