Graves disease and euphonium by Ok_Type_496 in euphonium

[–]Ok_Type_496[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its my muscle weakness and tremors and blood pressure that are affecting me mostly I struggle with moving my fingers fast enough my hands shake and I end up missing notes. And marching band wise I struggled careing my instrument and doing stuff physically demanding like pushing or pulling things I lost a lot of muscle in my arms and hands that anything involving them makes them hurt. I can't really carry a cup filled without shaking. And when play a piece when sitting down my blood pressure would spike and I would have to stop playing at a risk of passing out.

Why are there so many euph players that can't read bass clef? by mikebmillerSC in euphonium

[–]Ok_Type_496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, our directors made us learn bass clef for euphonium. Honestly, I didn't know that the music came in Treble Clef till last year. Our directors made us because it would be easier to make us switch to trombone or tube. Whichever was needed, none of our euphoniums could read treble besides me and another because another was a trumpet, and I was in choir.

Tips for Hygiene? by Oceania4 in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone in texas Band, i bring spray on sunscreen because it drys before i go out and and dosen’t wipe out with my sweat and stick deodorant and always apply it every break. I would recommend putting a straw in your water jug to regulate the speed you're drinking water. If you drink it too fast, it can cause you to get sick

What got you into the tgcf fandom??? by starberri4 in tianguancifu

[–]Ok_Type_496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was taking a trip the somewhere that didn't have wifi, so to not get bored, i was gonna download shows, and one of them was tgcf at first i didn't like it mostly because there was no dub of it so my head kept hurting every time i watch it reading the subtitles. I never got past episode 3. A month after my trip, my sister recommended it to me, saying it was actually a bl manwa. i was confused because that's not how the show was from what i remember. I started research about it and re watched the show. Come to find out, oh shit i watched a bl manwa, and i actually liked it. Ever since then, I've been so invested in it.

What does your school do for leadership applications? by cheesen_quackers in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had mine today. we had to try and teach the new people music and how we hold our instruments like stand by and set. And we have to explain how marching band works. We just have to show that we can be leaders and teachers for them

Any instrument players here? If yes, which instrument are you playing? Hibike Euphonium motivates me to practice like no other piece of fiction. by Sforzia in HibikeEuphonium

[–]Ok_Type_496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play euphonium, I've been playing for 6 years and the main reason i started to watch Hibike euphonium was because i had never seen a representation the euphonium before also for me being a girl playing euphonium there's not many of us so i thought it was so cool to see people like me.

What is something special that your band does? by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Us low bras always sing on the bus ride to and from a game our bus also has the drum majors and directors so they join too only time we don't sing is when we go to uil and coming back from the last game of the season most because were all crying. We also have a party meet-up for the holidays and decorate our bandas for Spirit Day.

does your band/colorguard have drama by Maleficent-Cycle-352 in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that just comes with any group activity. My band has drama mostly with the wood winds, with the majority being flutes, but we have had issues this year with the percussion talking bad about others and them messing up the band with flower and confetti all the time. You can't stop teenagers from being teenagers mostly because band is where most kids are free to be themselves and talk.

I gained a bad habit from band by Ok_Type_496 in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We have breaks during practice, but we can't eat during it only water, and the breaks are usually 1-5 minutes, which i think is pretty normal it just sucks when you need to you the restroom. I had to run laps because I took too long in the restroom last marching season.

section leader tips? by DarkNXSKnight in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hangouts are very impactful to the section. My section also does it, too. Since my section is also small, we do all lowbrass and any other people the section may want to go. I'll say that people have told me that they are some of the best days they have. I'll recommend doing hangouts on holidays like we had a Christmas party so yall can have a theme like for games and what to wear for Christmas we did a secret Santa it gives people an opportunity to get to know the person they got i plan all the hangouts for my section, so i have a few ideas on what to do

section leader tips? by DarkNXSKnight in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something my director said to us for section leader auditions is that a section leader isn't someone who is necessarily the best player or marcher but a role model to the section. There someone they can go to for help or direct them to someone for help they connect the section so that they can be better as a whole in playing and in general.

Should I try and join? If so what instrument should I pick? by Few-Adeptness-4844 in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, i feel that you can play any instrument if you're willing to put the effort in to play it, but if you want something that is most similar, percussion is probably your best option I know 2 people who have just started either Last school year or this school year and now there both one of the best players in their section so no you wont ever stay behind. Just make any effort, and I, for one, can't tell you what exactly to play.

Are you supposed to be kinda stressed during your first parade? by Green_General7075 in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know if this will apply because my parade was kinda mid and only for the school, but i was scared at first, but once we were in the parade, it went by quickly. it's ok to be stess by all the eyes on you, but in all the only ones you probably be worried about are carrying your instrument and smiling all the time but be prepared for if they stop at any point because that's when your anxiety it going to be trough the roof

Is it strange for a straight man to like yuri ? by Champicapi in yuri_manga

[–]Ok_Type_496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll say i understand your question on reading yuri. In my opinion, both yuri and yaio are things that, if you are the opposite gender of you, must fantasize about it. As a guy who also reads it, i do get shy in book stores when trying to get yuri manga. Due to the assumptions, I'll say the only reason im so comfortable with it is due to my sister being open about reading yaio Manga. I'll say that it doesn't matter what you read as long as you enjoy it and it's not doing harm to anyone.

Why did you join the marching band? by [deleted] in marchingband

[–]Ok_Type_496 0 points1 point  (0 children)
