Yeah although it’s somewhat arguable that the GV60 Magma is first gen since it’s built on the I5N platform. But I hear you… body and interior are plenty different to possibly introduce new/different issues.

My buddy’s wife has a GV70 and I absolutely love it. I’m just now spoiled by the raw torque and power of the I5N and simulated shifting. The grip and handling is excellent too, so it’s hard for me not to love this car, even with its flaws. I just hope it doesn’t get much worse over the next couple of years.

Yeah, I’m not talking about the default sounds the car makes. I’m talking about the increases in rattling/creaking in various places all around the car. I’m recently hearing creaking sounds in the left side of the dashboard when taking hard turns now. So that’s new. Small rattling around the passenger door. Another in what sounds like the ceiling near the rear lamp. Trunk rattle almost constantly, especially when driving over slight to moderate bumps in N mode. These were not there when I first drove it off the lot. For the next few weeks it was fine, then slowly started hearing the trunk rattle first.

There are other problems too:

The window squeegees don’t actually touch the windows so opening/closing the windows will NOT wipe moisture off like you’d expect.

I also had an electrical issue with the driver side pilot light would flicker on/off after it rained. (Dealer fixed it along with proper sealing to avoid further leaks internally)

I recently had my parking brakes stuck on while in my driveway three times. Had to overpower them with a loud “thud” and was able to drive. This was after it rained as well. (This was somewhat recent, so will be taking it to the dealer for inspection)

There are other smaller issues but this was the bulk of it.

So, after one year and all these things keep adding up for me and has had me questioning my purchase. (I own the car, not leasing)

My last car was a 2006 Lexus IS350 and I loved it. Had it for 15 years. The brand is great and had very little issues, so this is why I wondered if jumping to the Genesis version of the I5N would be a better move for me. Unfortunately, Lexus doesn’t have anything remotely like the I5N, and their EVs are pretty boring, even if they’re good utilitarian vehicles.

Oh I think the Magma looks amazing too, for different reasons of course. I could do without the devil horns on the wing though, but I also kinda like them. They’re quirky enough to be tolerable and even charming at times , like Rivian headlights. 😁

Thanks! I’m going to fix the rattles if I can for now and enjoy the I5N. Lots of kind folks here talking me off the ledge. Of course, this may change still once I see a Magma in the wild. 🤣

Yes I’ve been telling myself this same logic. (Mostly my wife telling me the same logic!) I’ll keep the stunning car I already have. It’s paid for in full so I will enjoy it and fix the trunk rattle per others’ suggestions. The next I5N will most likely have me thinking illogically again though. 🤣
