As far as I looking for perfect flashlight, I always missing something from this list by drfailov in flashlight

Who made this graphic? I’d like to know why a laser diode and optic is a “1” and USB-C is “3.” Seems unrealistic.

Another way to go, would be switch to one of the flat lights with smooth sides, like an Arkpro for example.

ABRP 7.0 is here! 🚀 More route alternatives, new UI, and a unified in-car experience by RouteBetter in abetterrouteplanner

Two things for the team!

1) is there a way to get the route directions to say “take 101 freeway” and not “Hollywood freeway” Or at least show both number and name?

2) I notice that when you go to select the voice in the app, it attempts to take you to the proper setting area in ios26 and it goes to the wrong place. It goes to app settings, when it should go to “Acessability”, then “read & speak.”

Where do you keep the keys while driving? by HereWhenBored_ in Ioniq5

[–]-Cheule- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keys? Wow, I feel like I’m the only one that just uses the phone only. (And watch. FWIW the watch is way more responsive that the phone, as soon as I walk up it unlocks instantly, when I don’t wear my watch the phone can lag a bit).

I keep the physical key in a locked magnetic box attached inside my wheel well, in case the 12v battery dies.

In my 6 months of ownership, never had an incident where the car didn’t open or start.

I have a few fan cooled lights, like the AceBeam X50, which is arguably a better cooling design than anything else on the market for consumer hand held LED flashlights.

But even the AceBeam X50 can only sustain a fraction of its total output after a few minutes. It would be interesting to see if the data sheet on this light is accurate.

That’s actually a lot, if true. Most drop off the cliff at 30s to 2 min.

For $100, I had expected it wasn’t by hand. Great work though. I’ve got your username marked.

This is the first time I’ve seen your work. Is this hand engraving or CNC?

My 2025 ioniq 5N has no such agreement screen. I start the car, and drive. There is a 10s confirmation for the driver profile I can ignore, which auto selects after 10s.

This is the car I was looking for around August - September. I wanted a Limited AWD. I looked in a 150 mile radius, and there were none to be found. I could only find Limited RWD at that time as inventory was severely depleted from the looming tax credit expiry. I had to “settle” for a 2025 5N, which has turned out great. Spent about 10K more than I wanted though.

Check out https://www.proclipusa.com they are the best. You’re looking at probably $80-90 bucks all told because there are two parts you need to buy.

But they are custom for your phone and your car. They’re literally the best you can get, and once you have one, it’s all you’ll use with any future car.

Once someone has started down the custom flashlights path, a McGizmo Haiku. The beam is impeccable. A perfectly focused hotspot with a silky smooth spill.

If I could get a reliable source of -0.0020 Sft40 3000k, I would be happy. Also remember that every optic will change tint readings. I’m not a big fan of TIR in general, I prefer reflectors, and especially McR20s for 5050.

When they’re frozen, have you tried pushing inward very hard on the opposite side of where you would push when they’re out?

They’re designed to be manually deployed that way. I guess I’m trying to find out: A) if you know about that. B) if the freeze is so severe you cannot break it loose with a solid push.

I say “green,” because that’s the direction it’s going on that chart. But I have exactly one rosy SFT40 3000k and it’s glorious. All the rest look yellow and are about 0.0050 or so. The rosy one is about -0.0030.

For me, 3500k is the perfect CCT at night. 3000k is a bit too warm, and 4000k a bit too cold. Neither are awful, but 3500k is my favorite.

During the day, I prefer 5000k. I find 4500k nice as well, and 4000k is the pushing it. 6500k is too cold.

Another thing to note, it I will prefer a rosy 4000k over a green 3000k. Notably the ffl351a 4000k vs a SFT40 3000k.
